Benoit Saint-Denis spoke to Michael Bisping after his victory against Mauricio Ruffy: "I would like to firstly say thank you to my wife. I became a dad for the second time a month ago. That is a present for my newborn son.

"I worked really hard. They [his coaches] put me in the right conditions and I had the right people around me. It was perfect.

"If there is a fighter in the top ten who doesn't have an opponent, if anything happens in the next few weeks, I am ready to step in. I know there is an event at Madsion Square Garden, maybe we can do something there. I am ready to go again."

Oh, I can hear boos. That's probably because Caio Barrolho is making his way to the cage and doesn't he look relaxed with his white shades on.

    Aspinall v Gane

Two 6ft 5in heavyweights throwing hands in the octagon? Sounds scary, right?

That's exactly what's going to happen on 25 October when Manchester's Tom Aspinall puts his UFC heavyweight title on the line against Ciryl Gane.

"If I hit anybody, I can knock anybody out. Ciryl is no exception," Aspinall said during a news conference in Paris.

"There are some weaknesses in his ground game, but I'm sure he's improved. It's rare to see two heavyweights our size move like we do. This is the new age of heavyweights."

And the commentators tell me that is a joint-UFC record for stoppages at a single event.

Will we see that record broken in the main event?

    Saint-Denis beats Ruffy by submission

Benoit Saint-Denis looks back on his time in the French military fondly.

"It was long and fatiguing and demanding, and after this I think I was a man - I was disciplined, and I knew how to work to get things done," he says.

"It was very adventurous, and I loved it."

Fighting terrorism and competing in the UFC are vastly different worlds with pressures of their own, but Saint-Denis does not have to dwell for long when deciding which is tougher.

"It depends on the occasion, but globally, I would say being a UFC fighter."

Well, he certainly made it look easy tonight!

Paul Craig is nothing short of a Scottish sporting legend.

An incredible 21 fights in the UFC, 29 MMA bouts overall. He made his pro debut in 2013 and went further than anyone would have predicted.

His incredible ground game and never-say-die attitude made him a must watch fighter. He could literally submit you in the blink of an eye.

That's why 13 of his 17 wins were by submission.

And let's not forget the many T-shirts that fell at his feet.

Benoit Saint-Denis provided protection for former French president Francois Hollande in 2016.

He has been at the forefront of counter-terrorism - rescuing hostages, stopping terrorist extractions and nullifying threats from groups like Boko Haram.

The 29-year-old experienced life-or-death situations during his five-year stint in the French military which finished in 2019, but the hardest moment of his life has not come during his time in the army - it arrived in the UFC.

Last March, Saint-Denis' five-fight winning streak in the promotion was ended by Dustin Poirier, and six months later he lost to Renato Moicano.

Paul Craig retires as arguably the best Scottish fighter in UFC history.

Whether he won or lost, his record of just two decisions in 29 fights is exemplary of his him usually being in entertaining fights that end in a stoppage.

With finishes over current light-heavyweight champion Magomed Ankalaev and former champion Jamahal Hill, he leaves resume many fighters would be proud of.
