    Women's windsurfing final

After a fantastic effort to qualify for the final in first place, Great Britain's Emma Wilson has to settle for a bronze medal.

She dominated the early rounds but it didn't go her way in the final. She sits with her head in her hands. Devastated.

Italy’s Marta Maggetti takes the gold with Sharon Kantor of Israel claiming silver.

Isabell Werth, on Wendy, just scored 79.894% for Germany to put them in gold medal position.

With 12 medals, Werth is the most decorated rider in Olympic equestrian history. The 55-year-old has won gold at every Games she's competed at - Paris is her seventh.

At the end of the second group, Great Britain have slipped down into bronze medal position, with Denmark above them. It's tight between the top three, but there's a near 10 percentage point gap between GB and the Netherlands in fourth.

Why have sailing events been postponed?published at 12:38 British Summer Time 3 August

You may have seen that a number of sailing events have been postponed or abandoned in the past few days.

The men's skiff final was twice abandoned midway through the race, the women's windsurfing marathon was also abandoned while the women's windsurfing final, which was due to take place yesterday, was postponed until today.

Why? Well, it's all to do with the wind - which is pretty important in sailing, as you can imagine.

The issue in the windsurfing is pretty straightforward: it wasn't windy enough for the races to go ahead.

Meanwhile, in the men's skiff final, the problem was a dramatic change of direction in the wind once the race had started. The sudden change was deemed to be providing an unfair advantage to certain teams and hindering others.

Basically, there is a Goldilocks element to the wind when it comes to sailing: it has to be just right.

With Emma Wilson through to the final of the women's windsurfing, for which only three boats qualify, Great Britain will add to their tally today - well, so long as the wind at Marseille Marina behaves itself.

The final was due to take place on Friday but a lack of wind meant that the quarter-final - and, as a result, the semis and final - were postponed.

The quarters and semis have now taken place and Wilson will be up against Israel’s Sharon Kantor and Marta Maggetti of Italy in the final shortly.

'I'm hungry for the next Olympics' - 16-year-old Haverspublished at 12:34 British Summer Time 3 August

    Women's individual

Megan Havers, the 16-year-old GB archer, has been speaking after her exit from the singles competition against South Korea's Lim Sihyeon: "I definitely felt pressure going into that match, especially as she scored a 694 in the individual ranking round). It was very intense.

“Starting off with a 28 (first set total) really helped me. Even taking the set point off her is an achievement for me as she ranked first and I'm ranked 49th. I wanted to put up a fight in that match. I think I did that.

“Finishing where I am and shooting how I have just has made me hungry for the next Olympics. I can't wait to see what four years brings for me.

“I've come into this whole Olympics absolutely blind to what it would be like. I feel like I handled it OK. But now I know for all the rest of my competitions how I can handle it.

“Being on that stage, I perform better. So in practice, I might not shoot as well as I do on the final stage but having everyone watch me in the crowd and at home makes you want to shoot better. I definitely upped my game on this one.”

Fleetwood won the French Open here in 2017. And then who can forget what happened at the same place a year later?

The Ryder Cup. A famous Team Europe win. The Moliwood bromance.

A gold medal here might not top that, but it would be right up there in the 33-year-old’s memory bank.
