Fans getting impatient at half-timepublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 3 August

    HT: USA 0-0 Japan

    Jess Anderson
BBC Sport at Parc des Princes

The cries of "USA, USA" follow you pretty much wherever you go at the Olympics but here it is being used by the fans as a bit of an impatient slow chant rather than one of excitement.

It's been a pretty slow match so far with not much to write home about.

Lindsey Horan saw an early effort smothered by Ayaka Yamashita and Sophia Smith has had a couple of chances while Mina Tanaka saw her low drive saved and Miyabi Moriya's volley blazed over the bar at the other end.

    All square at the break.

Spain's Rayderley Zapata has just celebrated his routine pretty wildly (think more football celebration than gymnastics) - although is not quite so happy with his score of 14.333, which is down on his qualifying score but is still the early mark to beat.

He was the silver medallist in Tokyo so he is well placed to know what might get him on to the podium.

    Tina Cook
    Three-time Olympic medallist

That is great news for Great Britain, especially to be coming home with a medal after Charlotte Dujardin obviously wasn't able to compete here in Paris.

Becky Moody came in and got her team off to a great start. Carl Hester did a great job as the middle-man but made one little error which cost a few points. Then Charlotte Fry came in at the very end.

Britain will be very pleased with their bronze medal!

Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul have won the first set of their bronze medal match against the Czech pair of Tomas Machac and Adam Pavlasek in the men's doubles, taking it 6-3.

Earlier, Matthew Ebden and John Peers won men's doubles gold for Australia, beating American duo Rajeev Ram and Austin Krajicek in the final.

    Equestrian - dressage team final

Jessica von Bredow-Werndl on TSF Dalera BB scores 79.954% for Germany and that confirms that it's bronze for Great Britain.

A superb effort from Becky Moody, Carl Hester and Lottie Fry after an extremely difficult build-up to these Games.

Germany take the gold by the barest of margins. Just 0.121 ahead of Denmark, who get the silver.

Jarman and Whitehouse for GB in floor finalpublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 3 August

GB gymnast Jake Jarman finished an impressive seventh in the men's all-around final, and is now beginning his bid for individual medals.

He finished as the top qualifier on floor, so he's in with a good chance. Luke Whitehouse joins him, who finished fifth in qualifying.

There are eight gymnasts in the final and Jarman will go sixth, and Whitehouse is up last.

The gap to the peloton is now about two minutes.

Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour - considering she has only been with this horse for a short time - has produced some great work here.

Freestyle has done beautiful trot work, so elevated all the way through, no mistakes there at all. She really sits and brings her hind legs underneath her.

She has produced that to perfection! That was a great performance.

A brilliant 81.216% for Denmark's Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour on Freestyle sees them go ahead of Great Britain.

The Danes secures at least a silver medal, their best ever result in the team dressage competition.

Silver is now the best Team GB can hope for. But, in all likelihood, with Germany still to come, it will be bronze.

She said that when she first rode him, she was blown away from the beginning. She said it feels like you are flying when you ride this enormous black stallion, Glamourdale.

If Tommy Fleetwood knocks in this birdie putt on the ninth, he will be flying solo again.

The Team GB medal hope bends his knees in hope of seeing it drop, but the ball stays left.

Fleetwood, who is one under for the day, remains in share of the lead on 12 under with Spain’s Jon Rahm, who is up ahead on the 10th tee.

Hurtling towards Fleetwood and Rahm is their Ryder Cup team-mate Nicolai Hojgaard.

The Dane is NINE under in his third round and one shot behind the co-leaders.

Lottie Fry is the third and final rider up for Great Britain.

The current individual world champion is competing at her second Olympic Games, having won team bronze alongside Carl Hester and Charlotte Dujardin three years ago in Tokyo.

Fry’s late mother, Laura, competed alongside Hester at the Barcelona 1992 Olympics, and she had weekly lessons with him as a child.

It was Hester who encouraged her to go to the Netherlands, where she now lives and trains under Danish Olympic medallist Anne van Olst.

She’s riding 13-year-old Glamourdale in Paris. Can they secure GB a medal?

Where am I?published at 14:04 British Summer Time 3 August

    USA 0-0 Japan

    Jess Anderson
BBC Sport at Parc des Princes

It's a really good turnout here at the Parc des Princes for this quarter-final match with most stands almost at capacity and a lively atmosphere to go with it.

What has really thrown me is that I recognise the voice of the English stadium announcer as the one who does the stadium announcements at the Etihad for Manchester City.

For a moment I thought I had taken a wrong turn and ended up in east Manchester.

Anyway, these two sides have faced each other plenty of times in the past, including in two World Cup finals and one Olympic final. Japan came out on top in 2011 but the US took Olympic gold in 2012 and the World Cup in 2015.

We're under way in the French capital.

Here are the Olympic headlines so far on Saturday...

And here's what to look out for on day eight of Paris 2024...

    • Tom Pidcock, who won an astonishing gold for Team GB in the mountain biking, is going for glory again in the men's road race alongside team mates Josh Tarling, Stephen Williams and Fred Wright.
    • Some of the best gymnasts in the world go for gold this afternoon, including Simone Biles in the women's vault and Max Whitlock in the men's pommel horse.
    • The highlight of tonight's athletics action is the women's 100m final at 20:20 BST. GB's Dina Asher-Smith, Imani Lansiquot and Daryll Neita are all through to the semi-finals, which take place at 18:50.
    • Team GB will defend their mixed 4x100m relay swimming gold tonight - with Peaty aiming to be involved.

    Men's road race - 120km to go

The chase group has caught up with the leaders so it's now an eight-strong breakaway.

Doubt there'll be a breakaway for much longer, though, as the peloton is now less than three minutes off.

The bulk of today's climbs are coming up so that should give a hint as to who'll be battling it out for gold today.
