    Tennis - men's doubles second round - Alcaraz/Nadal 6-4 6-7 (2-7) 10-2 Griekspoor/Koolhof

The Spanish superstar pairing of Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal move into the quarter-finals after dominating the deciding 10-point match tie-break against Dutch duo Tallon Griekspoor and Wesley Koolhof.

It promises to be some match in the last eight as Alcaraz and Nadal take on Austin Krajicek and Rajeev Ram, the American fourth seeds.

Both Americans have won men's doubles events at Grand Slams, but not together as a partnership. Ram has won four Slams when partnered with Britain's Joe Salisbury, while Krajicek won the 2023 French Open with Croatia's Ivan Dodig.

Next up on Court Suzanne Lenglen, the one we've been waiting for. Dan Evans and Andy Murray are in action for GB against Belgian duo Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen.

This is the jigsaw part of working out who is on what piece of apparatus and who has strengths and weaknesses on certain ones. Team GB are on beam, technically one of our lowest scoring pieces, and China and Brazil are on vault. It is all to play for.

Hopefully we can post good routines and then leaves it up to the other gymnasts. Anything can happen, we saw that in the men's final yesterday when China were leading and then it all fell apart.

Becky Downie has just nailed an absolutely brilliant bars routine - she's upped her (already huge) difficulty and picks up an absolutely massive 14.933. The highest of the night. Wow.

All round it's a serious improvement on qualifying where uneven bars presented problems for three of GB's gymnasts.

    Not today though.

Alice Kinsella improved hugely on qualifying - almost 1.5 marks more with 13.300 - and Georgia-Mae Fenton scored 14.000 - again more than a mark better.

The standings will be very interesting at the end of this round.

The United States are 2-0 up against Guinea in the other ongoing match and that would be enough to take USA through as well.
