Charlotte Worthington's title defence is over, but she spoke to BBC Sport:

"It was super tough. That course is a new level for the men and the women. I was trying to ride it with the strengths that I have right now and that was a little bit out of my reach.

"But regardless, my main goal was to be a two-time Olympian, get here and after the journey that I’ve had, to be able to stand up there and perform a run and get to the finish line, the only fight I was fighting out there was me against me.

"I’m really proud after the last two years I’m very happy with all the people that helped me get here. I’m feeling a lot of emotions right now.

"It’s not what you want but I know I’ve achieved my goal."

The full 60 seconds from Kieran Reilly was packed full of tricks. There wasn't a moment he didn't use one of the ramps, half pipes or quarter pipes to give something spectacular. He always adds an extra element of difficulty and flare. Really, really impressive.

Another big score for Kieran Reilly!

It’s 90.75 and that gives him an average of 91.21 across the two runs which means he qualifies in top spot!

Reilly is in the final, but just how far can he go? This result means he will go last tomorrow and get a look at all his competitors before he takes to the course.

His big rivals tomorrow will be Australian Logan Martin, the defending Olympic champion, and home favourite Anthony Jeanjean.

There’s no question around who this crowd want to see take the gold but who will have what it takes on the day?

A brilliant round of qualifying and it should be an absolutely corking final.

Now then, second run for Kieran Reilly. He’s already posted a massive score and qualification looks pretty certain.

But part of BMX freestyle is about tactics. You don’t want to show your hand too early.

Reilly will want to keep a couple of surprises up his sleeve for tomorrow’s final while also ensuring qualification.

Finishing near the top does have its advantages though, it means you get to watch the rest of the field go before you. How will Reilly play this?

It was phenomenal consistency from Nathan Hales. He has a world record that he set last year in Linato in Italy when he claimed his first World Cup gold, hitting 49/50. He knows he has that in the locker. But he standard in qualifying yesterday was so high.

He has a huge smile on his face. What a day, what an achievement from the 28 year-old from Rochester in Kent. He is an Olympic champion.
