Charlotte Worthington went from working as a chef, to becoming BMX freestyle's first ever female Olympic champion. And landing a trick that no other woman has ever landed before in competition in the process - the 360 backflip.

Her shock gold medal in Tokyo three years ago catapulted her into the limelight overnight.

But the 28-year-old Mancunian has since opened up about the struggles she endured after winning gold.

In May, she told me she "lost sight" of what she loved about the sport and had to rediscover the joy in just getting on her bike.

She took some time away to do that and is now back on the big stage, ready to defend her title.

Her most recent results suggest she won't be a medal contender at this Games - she finished 11th in the Olympic Qualifier Series and had to wait to find out if previous results were enough to book her place in Paris - but most importantly Worthington is back enjoying her sport.

And, as we have seen on several occasions, she always has a special something up her sleeve.

Ah. Turns out, as it often can in tennis, Jack Draper was made to pay for not taking any of those six break points at 1-1.

An energy-sucking rally in the fourth game took a bit more gas and the Briton starts to fade a bit in the following couple of games.

Draper, understandably wiping his brow regularly with a towel, loses serve to trail 4-2.

Fritz serves out the set, finishing with an ace to level, before Draper takes his shirt off to cool before the decider.

Draper was not the only one to come through a first set tie-break against an American in the early action at Roland Garros.

Croatia's Donna Vekic, who reached the Wimbledon semi-finals earlier this month, has won a 9-7 tie-break against American second seed Coco Gauff.

    A shock brewing.

Elsewhere, German veteran Angie Kerber - who announced on Friday she will retire after the Games - continues her farewell with a 6-4 6-3 win over Canada's Leylah Fernandez.

Another player who is saying farewell this year is Danielle Collins.

Collins, who spoke in a BBC Sport column earlier this year about why she is retiring despite being in the world's top 10, shared the opening two sets 6-0 4-6 with Colombia's Camila Osario.

I know you're probably sick of us all saying it's hot in Paris. But wow, it is absolutely scorching hot today.

I'm down at Place de la Concorde where the BMX Freestyle qualifiers are taking place.

There's plenty of Team GB interest with defending Olympic champion Charlotte Worthington going in the second heat of the women's event before world champion Kieran Reilly takes to the course in the second heat of the men's event later on.

Of the 12 riders in each event, only two can progress to tomorrow's final. They will have two one-minute runs to showcase their best skills then it's over to the judges to score the riders from 0.00-99.99 with the average score of the two runs taken.

It's always a party atmosphere at Concorde but who will be celebrating at the end of the day?

That was exceptional [from Jack McMillan and Kieran Bird]. All the pressure was [on] them. They know they’ve got Duncan [Scott] coming in this evening and they’ve also got Matt Richards.

They had a job to do, and there’s a pressure that comes with that job. The beauty of it is being a heat swimmer, you might get a medal as well.

Job done. Looked so supremely good and I can’t imagine us not winning a medal tonight.

I'm absolutely made up with that relay performance. James Guy is the story of that relay and they've also got Tom Dean, the previous Olympic champion.

It is looking so great for Britain tonight. It could be a procession.

I'd offer to buy the whole team coffees tomorrow morning if they don't win, I'm that confident.

Great Britain have qualified for the final of the men's 4x200m freestyle relay, finishing first in their heat and ahead of the likes United States, France and Australia with a time of 7:05:11.

Team GB, made up of James Guy, Jack McMillan, Kieran Bird and Tom Dean, were the fastest team in qualifying from both heats combined.

They will compete in tonight's final, which is due to start at 21:15 BST.

The Dutch are once again pushing Britain back into their own half but it's Gareth Furlong who goes closest to breaking the deadlock with a piledriver from a penalty corner that needed Dutch keeper Pirmin Blaak to push away acrobatically.

The teams head off for a well-earned breather after an intense first half, and the deep blue pitch gets a good watering too.

Blimey. Long games aren't really what the players need in this heat, but that's what Jack Draper and Taylor Fritz get.

The British men's number one is unable to convert any of six break points in a mammoth third game of the second set which Fritz holds for 2-1.

While Draper is frustrated at not taking any of them, the pressure he is continuing to put on Fritz's serve is very encouraging.

He's trying to play aggressive, front-foot tennis and win the points as quickly as he can.

Anna Hopkin has qualified for the Women's 100m freestyle semi-finals, and was talking to Sharron Davies:

Job done – has the focus been on the 50m or the 100m because you went out really fast: “My focus has always been the 100m because of the relays but it’s good to know that I’ve got the front end speed.

"I think this morning I wanted to even it out a bit and not go out too hard, and hopefully there’s more in there tonight."

So that was not going out too hard?

“I would tend to go out quicker so tonight with the atmosphere and a bit more adrenalin, hopefully that will come a bit easier.

GB Shooter Nathan Hales has just qualified for the final of the men’s trap!

Loud cheers from onlooking friends and family greeted his perfect score of 25/25 in the fifth and final qualification round - meaning his overall tally of 123/125 was enough to finish in the top six.

Hales said: “It feels amazing - very emotional at the moment, it hasn’t quite sunk in yet.

"I just tried to stay focused and trust the process we’ve been working on over the last three or four years.

"It was so good hearing all my family and friends cheer me on.”

Matthew Coward-Holley, also from Great Britain, missed out on the final, finishing joint-24th with a score of 117.

Jack Draper had three break points - including one set point at 4-5 - but Taylor Fritz kept wriggling out of trouble.

That means the opening set will be decided by a tie-break.

Draper, who is causing problems for Fritz with his depth of returning, starts fast and moves into a 4-1 lead.

The British men's number one takes the first of three set points when the American dumps a forehand into the net - then threatens to dump his racquet in the clay.

Sensibly, both players have gone off the sweltering court for a refresh.
