‘Nadal looks gassed’published at 14:04 British Summer Time 29 July

    *Djokovic 6-1 4-1 Nadal

    Jonathan Jurejko
    BBC Sport at Roland Garros

Nadal is showing every bit of his 38 years out there.

Head bowed as he sits in his chair at the changeover, sweat drips down his nose. He exhales heavily.

    The Spaniard is gassed.

Father Time is knocking on the door and Djokovic seems intent on sending Nadal into retirement.

In other news, Billie Jean King found a seat. Next to Snoop Dogg. A collab we’d all love to see and never thought we would.

I’m starting to think I’m a bad omen.

I was covering the cycling time trial when Josh Tarling got a puncture.

And then that happens to Tom Pidcock…

Individual eventing finals at 14:00published at 14:00 British Summer Time 29 July

    BBC iPlayer

The stream on BBC iPlayer and red button is now switching to the individual eventing finals, after GB won the team competition earlier today.

There are three GB riders involved, with the top 25 from the team competition qualifying. Both Laura Collett and Tom McEwen qualified in the top four so there are more medal hopes there.

Double break for Djokovicpublished at 13:59 British Summer Time 29 July

    *Djokovic 6-1 3-0 Nadal

    Jonathan Jurejko
    BBC Sport at Roland Garros

No doubt about it… Novak Djokovic has come to play.

It feels like Clubber Lang giving a hiding to Apollo Creed.

Djokovic is no young buck, of course.

But, unlike Nadal, he is still at the pinnacle of the sport and his blows are too big for the Spaniard to take.

When Djokovic thumps a forehand winner down the line for a 2-0 lead, Nadal can only clap his strings in admiration at the quality his opponent is showing.

Nadal isn’t helping himself, though. A double fault sets up a break point which he saves but a wild forehand wide allows Djokovic to move a double break ahead moments later.

    Men's mountain bike

Victor Koretzky of France is the leader by 10 seconds from South Africa's Alan Hatherly as they begin their fifth lap.

GB's Charlie Aldridge is fifth, 20 seconds off the lead, with Tom Pidcock battling his way up to sixth.

It is still all to play (or race) for.

  6. Postpublished at 13:55 British Summer Time 29 July

Team GB's cyclists aren't having much luck with their tyres.

Josh Tarling missed out on a medal in the time trial earlier this week because of the same issue.

'Tom has to be calm'published at 13:53 British Summer Time 29 July

    Men's mountain bike

    Isla Short
Scottish cross-country mountain biker on BBC TV

It's pretty hard to ride the tough sections when you've got a front puncture. I think it's so difficult because Tom will be feeling frustrated, but when you are frustrated, you don't race well. You have to be calm and not race angry.

'It's about GB avoiding Australia or New Zealand'published at 13:51 British Summer Time 29 July

    GB 26 - 17 South Africa

    Rob Vickerman
    BBC Sport Rugby Sevens expert

The conversation about GB coming into this game was the context of their qualification position, if they do proceed, which indeed they should.

It’s about trying to avoid Australia and New Zealand, and at the moment it is a crash course heading their way.

Tom Pidcock was looking so good when I saw him a few moments ago.

But NO! A puncture? How much is that going to cost him? He’s now 36 seconds behind. But we’ve seen him do some special stuff before…

Pidcock out in front - justpublished at 13:45 British Summer Time 29 July

Tom Pidcock switches on the afterburners out in front, with a three-second gap to Mathias Flueckiger and Victor Koretzky.

Koretzky then cuts that down to just a second as they cross the line for the fourth lap.

The gauntlet has been thrown down.

Fans legging it left, right, up, down just to get as many glimpses of their favourites as they can.

Pidcock’s in an excellent position at two laps down with Charlie Aldridge not far behind. Six to go!

    Men's mountain bike

    Victoria Pendleton
Olympic cycling gold medalist on BBC Radio 5 Live

The lead has been changing a little bit.

The riders are trying to squeeze through and manoeuvre themselves around.

It's nerve-wracking to watch. These guys are going so quickly through the obstacles. They want to go down in the quickest time with the shortest route they can take.

They must know when their opportunities will come to overtake when there is enough width on certain sections on the course.

    Men's mountain bike

Mathias Flueckiger of Switzerland is the leader at the end of the second lap with a time of 21.40, but Tom Pidcock is right on his heels.

    This is bubbling up nicely.

Djokovic is just about doing enough out there. No more, no less and everything going along in Mission Olympic Gold Medal.

It's taken very little out of him.

Djokovic cruises through first setpublished at 13:33 British Summer Time 29 July

    Djokovic 6-1 Nadal

    Jonathan Jurejko
    BBC Sport at Roland Garros

Nadal avoids the bagel (a 6-0 set) to the delight of the Roland Garros crowd.

The biggest roar of the afternoon comes as he cranks his side of the scoreboard into life.

Nadal is adored here and that would have been hard for his fans to stomach.

Djokovic misses out on a career first there - taking a set 6-0 off his long-time rival.

While he’d have loved to have done that, Djokovic is more than content with the 39-minute breadstick.

    Djokovic 5-0 Nadal*

    Jonathan Jurejko
    BBC Sport at Roland Garros

This is getting out of control for Rafael Nadal.

The Spaniard has barely played over the past couple of years and is carrying a thigh injury at the moment.

He’s nowhere near the level of Djokovic, who has dominated in every area.

The 24-time Grand Slam champ from Serbia is showing no mercy and breaks again for 5-0.

Not the contest which a packed Court Philippe Chatrier was hoping for.
