    Oh, HELLO Mexico!

An absolutely sensational dive from Juan Celaya and Osmar Olvera and they're top of the standings with two dives to go!

It is tight at the top - and the top three of Mexico, China and Great Britain all have their most difficult dives still to come...

Another out-of-character dive from Chinese pair Daoyi Long and Zongyuan Wang opens the door further for the other athletes.

Britons Anthony Harding and Jack Laugher's routine is good but not exquisite, before Mexico's Juan Celaya and Osmar Olvera do a superb dive, taking a surprise first place!

The Brits are third with two dives to go.

Wynne-Griffiths and George put everything into that final and led for the majority of the race.

So tough to be pipped on the line but they should be proud to add silver to GB's medal tally.

The suffering, the pain they were going through, it disorientates you.

It makes you make really simple, easy mistakes and it's no fault of their own. They put themselves in that hurt-locker for so long in that race.

They did 99% of that right. It was just heartbreak for them.

It's a great advert, again, for the last stroke always counts.

    Men's pair final

It's heartbreak for Great Britain as Croatia's Valent and Martin Sinkovic produce a brilliant late sprint to snatch the gold from around their necks.

Team GB settle for silver after a super display from Ollie Wynn-Griffiths and Tom George. They did everything they could.

It was Switzerland who took the bronze medal.

Mills misses out in heat twopublished at 10:34 British Summer Time 2 August

    Men's 1500m - round one

Great Britain's George Mills was in such a good position coming round the final bend but he faded as others finished strongly.

He slipped from second to 10th as Ethiopia's Ermias Girma stormed to victory in 3:35.21.

Ireland's Luke McCann was also just outside of the six automatic qualification places. There is a repechage round so all hope might not be lost for Mills and McCann.

All eyes on on heat three now, though, as Norway's Jakob Ingebrigtsen begins the defence of his Olympic title. Team GB's Neil Gourley is also in the third heat.

Jack Laugher and Anthony Harding are in a decent position after three of the six dives - they're just five points behind the Chinese pair in first, but the Mexican duo only trail by two.

Now, the key thing here, is that Laugher and Harding's most difficult dive is still to come - only they and the Mexicans are attempting a dive with a 3.9 difficulty.

Basically, it could end up getting tense...

An over rotation from Chinese pair Daoyi Long and Zongyuan Wang on the third dive gives the other teams an opportunity to close the gap slightly in the standings.

Yes they can! Another great dive from the Brits tightens their grip on silver.

You just had to have faith that Josh Kerr knew exactly what he was doing there.

One thing you cannot doubt is his confidence in his own ability and that was a classy opening from the team captain, coasting at the back before working through the gears and taking victory without really breaking a sweat.

Next it's over to George Mills, the son of former England footballer Danny Mills, to try and join Kerr in Sunday's semi-finals in the first phase of his 1500m and 5,000m double-up at these Games.

Then we'll get a first glimpse of what form Jakob Ingebrigtsen has arrived here in...
