Well the defending champion Bethany Shriever is looking in absolutely superb form here.

She finished first in all three of her quarter-final races last night and it's another first-place finish in her semi-final. She's so far out ahead the gap between her and the rest is huge!

Shriever broke her collarbone earlier this year at the world championships and it was a race to be fit enough to compete in Paris.

But she's here and she looks in seriously good form.

On the track: "I was warming up and whatever they have done they have done a great job!"

Keely Hodgkinson looks totally relaxed as she blows kisses to the camera following her straightforward win.

One down, one more to go, and then another shot at ending that series of global silvers.

It's easy to forget Hodgkinson is still only 22, and only three years have passed since she burst on to the scene with that thrilling Olympic debut in Tokyo.

That is a confident start and one which will only add to the growing feeling that this is her time.

"There was a point on the turn I didn't know if I would get third, but thankfully I had it in the legs."

On nerves: "I don't want to get started on it, ask my roommates! I was trying not to hyperventilate.

"I got ready five hours before so I need something to put my mind on."

On how she feels: "I am tired obviously, but it is good to get things started. We are at the Olympic games and it is serious stuff. It is a good way to remind myself how fast these girl are."

That was not how Dylan Schmidt will have imagined landing one of his opening moves... the New Zealander, who took bronze in Tokyo 2020, crashed past the side of the trampoline to land on the floor.

Thankfully one of the spotters - the people holding mats at the side of the trampoline was able to do their job quickly and break his fall with the mat. He scores just 19.500.

I think Kye Whyte was boxed out a bit there. It seemed like a good start but he was right on the outside of the track as well. He chose a position on the edge and got squeezed out.

There's still two more chances for him to reach that final.

The atmosphere inside here is absolutely electric! France have got three riders in the men's event and each one got an absolute roar.

The sun is just setting and it's an absolutely glorious evening in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelienes.

But it's tough going for Great Britain's Kye Whyte in his first semi-final run. The Tokyo silver medalist got round in 32.808 which was good enough for fifth place.

Remember he is struggling with that back injury.

Chile's Mauicio Molina Vergara crashed just by Whyte and that may have thrown the Brit off a little too. But he's going to have to find a bit more speed if he wants to make that final.

Zak Perzamanos, 21, ends his Olympic debut with a roar and a grin as he comes through his routine cleanly. His score of 59.840 is a slight improvement on his qualifying score after he lifted his difficulty level but there are some big hitters to come.

However, it is an unforgiving format as the next competitor will testify to - Angel Hernandez didn't complete his routine as he bounced out. So after two athletes, the Briton leads.
