    Anna Henderson is off!

The Briton is making her Olympic debut here in Paris, but her initial dream was to compete at the WINTER Olympics.

She was a junior alpine skiing national champion before she suffered a broken leg at the age of 15. She took up cycling as part of the rehab and the rest, as they say, is history.

    Well.

Fifty four minutes after he first walked out on to court, Novak Djokovic is walking back off, the win safely under his belt.

He'll face much, much tougher tasks - Matthew Ebden was playing his first singles match for two years, for example - but that's as easy a workout as he could hope for.

Up next? Well, it could be Rafael Nadal, should he beat Hungary's Marton Fucsovics later this week.

This is such a tricky course, the rain making all the difference on a street circuit.

I hope they get a marshal on that corner since we have had two riders go down on the same spot.

Judgement is all part of game. It isn't just power, it isn't brute force, it's also technique and judgement and knowing where to back off.

That's the biggest cheer of the afternoon so far for Matthew Ebden as a long Novak Djokovic forehand wins him his first game of the match.

Ebden puts his shirts over his face and celebrates towards the crowd, who give him a standing ovation.

Djokovic can also see the funny side, patting him on the shoulder and laughing as they head to the changeover.

American Taylor Knibb has had to change her bike after falling off four times. The mechanic who actually took her spare bike off the roof also fell over as he was running to give the new bike to her.

Rain impacts road cyclingpublished at 14:10 British Summer Time 27 July

The weather is certainly having its say on the women's time trial as well. We've seen a few falls already as the cyclists try to navigate some tight bends on the wet road.

It looks really nasty out there. Slow and steady may be the order of the day.

GB's Anna Henderson is expected to begin at around 14:16 BST.

If you want to know how it's going for Matthew Ebden, he's just offered his racquet to anyone in the crowd to see if they want to have a go at facing Novak Djokovic for him instead.

That came after he tried an underarm serve. He still lost the point.

    New Zealand 17-12 Argentina

    Jonathan Jurejko
BBC Sport at Stade de France

The Stade de France has turned into Eden Park.

I wonder why. The French fans continue their booing of the Argentines amid the ongoing controversy between the nations' football teams.

New Zealand, who surprisingly lost to South Africa in the quarter-finals, are roared over the line as Akuila Rokolisoa nips in for the first try.

Argentina level at 7-7 through Tobias Wade before half-time, then swing the match their way when Luciano Gonzalez nips over.

But Wade misses the conversion and, in the dying embers of normal time, New Zealand's Moses Leo bounces off a defender to dive over to level at 12-12.

Andrew Knewstubb can't convert from the right touchline - but comes up trumps with a winning try in sudden-death extra time.

The All Blacks go into the fifth/sixth placing match later, facing the winner between Ireland and the United States next.

'Lots of bumps and holes'published at 13:58 British Summer Time 27 July

    Katie Falkingham
    BBC Sport in Paris

As expected, there are some big international names involved in these Olympic time trials.

The women’s race is well under way. Look out for the likes of Belgium’s Lotte Kopecky, the Netherlands’ Ellen van Dijk and the United States’ reigning world champion Chloe Dygert coming up.

In the men's race, Wout van Aert, Filippo Ganna and Remco Evenepoel are among those setting their sights on Olympic gold.

Even before the rain came, some riders have been voicing their concerns over the conditions of the Parisian road surfaces after checking out the course.

Belgium’s world champion Evenepoel said: “The road surface is pretty bad in the beginning and in the end. So that might be a problem if you have black spots in front of your eyes in the last kilometres.”

Van Dijk said “there’s a lot of bumps and holes”, while Belgian Van Aert added: “Not everywhere was as good as you would expect for such a big event.”

The biggest cheers of the day so far at Versailles greet a stunning performance by Team GB’s Laura Collett on London 52.

The 34-year-old replaces team-mate Tom McEwen at the top of the standings in eventing dressage, a position McEwen had held since early this morning.

Those two were part of the team which won GB’s first eventing team gold in 49 years at Tokyo 2020.

It bodes very well for the overall team in Paris, with Ros Canter on Lordships Graffalo still to make their first outing here later this afternoon.

Neigh bother, despite the miserable conditions.

Novak Djokovic just hit a serve that wasn't called out and was given as an ace, before indicating to the umpire that he thought it was long and willingly giving up a first serve.

He still won the point with ease and is absolutely cruising against Matthew Ebden, having taken the first set in next to no time.

Of course, potentially looming in the second round, is one Rafael Nadal...

Women's time trial under waypublished at 13:48 British Summer Time 27 July

The women's road cycling time trial has begun in what look like pretty horrible conditions. It is still raining and the road is also soaked from the downpours yesterday.

Team GB's Anna Henderson has a good chance of a medal here and she will be starting at around 14:16 BST. Henderson finished fourth at last year's world championships and is the reigning European silver medallist.

Swiss race favourite Marlen Reusser has withdrawn due to illness and Dutch three-time world champion Ellen van Dijk will be competing for the first time since fracturing her ankle in June, while Chloe Dygert of the USA is reigning world champion.

The race is currently live on BBC One.

Britain’s male gymnasts enjoyed a strong morning in qualification, with all five team members putting themselves in a position to reach finals.

Collectively, their score of 256.561 was the highest of the morning session - 3.332 points clear of expected team medal rivals USA.

Based on scores from last year’s World Championships, Britain are on course to reach the team final and be represented by at least one gymnast in all seven individual finals.

Walking back to the metro station from La Defense Arena, which hosts the swimming, the rain continued to pour and it’s still showing no signs of letting up.

Outdoor seating is all empty and the brollies and rain coats are well and truly out.

The weather looks like it’s going to brighten up tomorrow but it’s a real shame some of the events have been affected today.

    Let’s hope for some sunshine!
