    Hayley Simmonds
Commonwealth cycling bronze-medallist on BBC Radio 5 Live

In this men's time trial, the speeds are going to be higher and maybe the risk taking is going to be greater.

I hope we don't see any bad crashes - I hope we don't see any crashes - but I am expecting maybe one or two.

We could see our first GB gold medal in this one. I really believe Josh Tarling has got a really strong chance of bringing home a gold medal. He is an incredible talent.

I managed to snap this photo of Anna Henderson as she flew past me after crossing the finish line.

Utterly exhausted, she clambered off her bike and sat on those soaking wet cobbles to catch her breath.

She didn't know at the time she was an Olympic silver medallist. She does now.

Anna Henderson’s boyfriend Olly was one of those caught up in the travel chaos yesterday with the journey from London to Paris taking near six hours.

He was telling her to go to bed before he arrived and that she had a pretty restless night’s sleep. Didn’t affect her performance though, she’s now an Olympic medallist.

'No update about play on outside courts'published at 15:46 British Summer Time 27 July

    Tennis - first round

    Maz Farookhi
Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Live

There is still no update yet about play on the outside courts at Roland Garros.

There are four Brits are on the order of play today, to try and get their First Round matches played out, but we really haven't managed to see any tennis at all.

On the show courts, which have roofs on, USA's Taylor Fritz has taken the first set against Kazakhstan's Alexander Bublik.

There is plenty of home support for France's Caroline Garcia against Romania's Jaqueline Cristian on the other covered court.

What does cadence mean?published at 15:37 British Summer Time 27 July

Road Cycling - Women's road race time trial

We have heard the word 'cadence' frequently mentioned during today's women's road race time trial, but what does it actually mean?

Very simply, cadence is the number of revolutions the pedals make per minute as you ride.

Riders will all pedal at different rates, but you will notice that on flat surfaces they tend to pedal faster and have a very high cadence, compared to a slower cadence on a climb.

Time trialists, for example, tend to use a higher cadence in shorter events than they do in longer.

Cadence is a key measurement because it represents the power being put on the bike and the physical effect on the rider. Cycling at a lower cadence typically puts more strain on your muscles and in turn causes fatigue, but that too depends on the athlete and their endurance.

    Men's rugby sevens: France v Fiji - gold-medal match (18:45 BST)

    Jonathan Jurejko
BBC Sport at Stade de France

Popped down to the mixed zone shortly after France's victory and it's safe to say Les Bleus were a happy bunch.

Most of the players stopped to chat to the press, with 14-point hero Rayan Rebbadj and superstar scrum-half Antoine Dupont particularly in demand.

Asked how he felt to be guaranteed at least a silver medal, Dupont said: "It's a mix of emotions because we want the gold medal, obviously.

"We still have one more game and we have to stay focused if we want to win tonight against a big team."

    Men's rugby sevens semi-final: Fiji 31-7 Australia

    Tom Varndell
Former England and Leicester wing on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

What a final France against Fiji is going to be. You couldn't have asked for more.

You are going to have the defending Olympic champions against the home nation. It isn't going to get any bigger than that. The crowd is going to be absolutely pumping come this evening.

You have got to say, they have been the two best teams this tournament. They were the two favourites leading into it.

Fiji have got such a rich history in this competition. France have got superstar Dupont. I can't wait for it.

It simply had to be, didn't it?

France will play Fiji in the gold medal match of the men's rugby sevens later.

    The hosts versus the favourites.

The dream final for the neutrals, but a very tough test for Les Bleus.

Fiji are two-time defending champions and still have never lost an Olympic match after thrashing Australia 31-7 in the second semi-final.

Gonna be banging in the Stade de France later. Miss it, miss out.

'So composed from Henderson'published at 15:14 British Summer Time 27 July

    Women's time trial

    Jill Douglas
    Reporter on BBC TV

Just so composed from Anna Henderson on quite a treacherous course.

To finish in second place here is just phenomenal, a really gutsy ride and what a performance from her.

It was also such an impressive performance from Grace Brown who retires from cycling at the end of this season.

  18. 'Phenomenal ride'published at 15:12 British Summer Time 27 July

British cyclist Hayley Simmonds speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "That was an absolutely phenomenal ride from Grace Brown and she's made the other rides look slow when they weren't at all."

Great Britain's second medal of the day and it's a silver for Anna Henderson! What a performance.

In tricky conditions with plenty of riders falling, Henderson finishes in 41 minutes and nine seconds to claim silver behind Grace Brown of Australia, who was a remarkable 90 seconds faster.

In a tense finish, American Chloe Dygert fell less than a second short of Henderson's time to end up in third place.
