    Ruthless.

Barely a minute after Wales have a score scrubbed off, England overload down the right wing allowing Eboni Partington to score a simple try in the corner.

Izzy Rowe adds two points with a fine conversion.

    England 24-0 Wales

    John Kear
Wales Men's Rugby League Head Coach on BBC Two

    That was very close.

That was some inventive play from the Welsh team, but it was a great scramble defence from England.

  3. NO TRYpublished at 12:28 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2024

It does not get any easier for Wales. Foot in touch, no try.

England's perfect defensive record under Stuart Barrow remains.

  4. TRY REVIEWpublished at 12:28 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2024

    England 24-0 Wales

    Have Wales scored?!

A set restart gives them a huge opportunity, and they bundle over amid a mass of bodies in the left corner.

The soft signal on field is no try, but it goes to vido ref Marcus Griffiths...

  5. Postpublished at 12:27 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2024

    England 24-0 Wales

    Steve Sutcliffe
    BBC Sport at Headingley, Leeds

The scoreline is already beginning to turn very ugly for Wales.

Tom Brindle's side have stepped up in class today and they have simply been unable to cope so far against a very hungry and energetic England side, who at present look like they could put any score they want on the board.

  6. Postpublished at 27 mins

    England 24-0 Wales

The ball is dropped in midfield by England, scrum Wales.

England have made three errors so far, Wales five. None of England's mistakes have been punished, almost all of Wales' have been.

  7. 'Davies can create something out of nothing'published at 12:25 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2024

    Amanda Wilkinson

She's such an athlete, Anna Davies. She can create something out of nothing.

  8. 'A great finish'published at 12:25 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2024

    England 24-0 Wales

    John Kear
Wales Men's Rugby League Head Coach on BBC Two

    Anna Davies is a handful.

It was an individual try and she beat three defenders before grounding the ball.

TRY - England 24-0 Walespublished at 12:25 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2024

    Anna Davies (25 mins)

Davies had initially grounded just short of the line as she dived for the corner, but momentum carried her to the white paint.

England's fifth try is confirmed, and Davies' second. It's a superb piece of strong wing play, holding off at least two tacklers and doing all the hard work herself.

Izzy Rowe puts the conversion left of the posts, she's two from five now.

  10. TRY REVIEWpublished at 25 mins

    England 20-0 Wales

Anna Davies has bulldozed her way over the line, but referee James Vellis is unsure of the grounding.

Soft signal try, but we will have a video review.

  11. Postpublished at 24 mins

    England 20-0 Wales

Izzy Rowe tries a slightly ambitious crossfield kick, Carys Marsh makes a good defensive catch.

The game has already gone for Wales you suspect, it's about saving face and trying to register a score to break that clean England streak.

It's virtually a point per minute.

  13. 'England in fantastic shape'published at 12:20 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2024

    England 20-0 Wales

    Vicky Molyneux
Former England International on BBC Two

Again you have got England in fantastic shape.

Paige Travis loves running into holes and she is always looking on the inside shoulder.

That try come from England's defensive effort it gave them the field position and they capitalised.

  14. 'Wales need to keep their heads'published at 12:20 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2024

    Amanda Wilkinson
Barrow Raiders Women head coach on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

Wales need to keep their heads in the game. They've been good in defence so far: Carys Marsh has been very present. And they've had to work because England have made good metres down the middle. Wales have got to keep working.

    This could get nasty.

England go from right to left, with Jodie Cunningham again chief playmaker. Again the ball finds Paige Travis, and again loose forward Paige Travis bounces over the line.

Izzy Rowe converts with a flat kick, the ball nearly poleaxing the camera operator.

  16. 'Basics letting Wales down'published at 12:18 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2024

    Amanda Wilkinson
Barrow Raiders Women head coach on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

The basics are letting Wales down at the moment. They're not ending the sets well and there was an error at the play-the-ball. You've got to take your chances when you get into good positions against England.

This fixture ended 60-0 a year ago. We are well on track for a similarly comprehensive scoreline.

Wales are pressured into giving away possession 10 metres from their line as a player is bundled into touch.

  18. 'That was a peach of a line!'published at 12:16 Greenwich Mean Time 2 November 2024

    England 14-0 Wales

    John Kear
Wales Men's Rugby League Head Coach on BBC Two

The back row is a strong position in women's Super League and Paige Travis illustrates that.

That was a peach of a line! The back rower bounced to the outside and straight through the gap for a quality try.

    Paige Travis (18 mins)

    Wales punished again.

Following that knock-on, England go from their own try line to the other end of the pitch with a well worked move, ending in Paige Travis easily shaking off an attempted tackle from the fullback and score under the posts.

This allows Izzy Rowe to finally register a conversion at the third attempt.

With Anna Davies and Isabel Rowe both in Stuart Barrow's starting 13 it is perhaps no surprise to see their club boss from Wigan Warriors, Denis Betts, in attendance.

The Wigan great has been watching on intently and quite enjoyed seeing their link up for England's second try.
