The Saints girls walk back towards the try line and hopefully their heads are not gone and we still have a tough game.

But Wigan have got all of the momentum and intensity at the moment.

Saints need to find it from somewhere to pick themselves back up.

    What a try!

Good move from Wigan sees them work it out of the back of the hands to wing Anna Davies.

Davies still has an incredible amount of work to do with a good 25 metres of space in front of her to go but attacks the ground with great determination and slides over in the right corner.

Isabel Rowe's tricky conversion attempt is pulled to the right.

Saints are starting to get scrappy defensively.

Wigan are just starting to execute on the back of the pressure, managing shift the ball nice and early and catching Saints out for numbers.

    Molly Jones

    It's given - Wigan lead!

Jodie Cunningham is left with an overload on the left hand side and Molly Jones has herself a carbon copy of the first try crashing over on the left edge - terrific work from the centre.

Isabel Rowe misses the conversion attempt - she is now 0 from 3 - but Wigan have turned this one around.

    Wigan 8-8 St Helens

Wigan think they are back in front - Molly Jones touches down for a second time in as many minutes but we have gone upstairs to Liam Rush in the TMO booth.

That was a mirror image of the try Molly [Jones] scored when we played against Saints for the League Leaders Shield.

It looked well rehearsed and it is well rehearsed and it's a good job that Molly went over the line. We passed the ball so well, Isabel Rowe made that long pass to Jenna Foubister and she passed it across.

Molly has practised that line really well and had that dummy across to Ruby Hunter because she was flat ready for that ball, but she managed to dive over the line.

    Molly Jones

Wigan crash over for their second try of the night and we're all-square again!

Molly Jones, moments after an excellent carry of her own, has the opportunity on the left edge and finds the gap in between Phoebe Hook and Jodie Cunningham to get herself on the scoresheet.

Isabel Rowe hooks her conversion attempt left and we remain level.

A wonderful carry from Molly Jones gets Jenna Faubister in position to kick in behind and Saints are forced into giving the ball back via a goal line drop out.

Saints winger Dani McGifford retrieves a long kick over her shoulder to race in and grab some good yardage.

A great carry from Rachael Woosey allows a good position for Faye Gaskin to kick in behind but it doesn't have the legs and back Wigan come from inside their own 20 metre line.

A knock on from Saints in midfield allows Wigan a scrum.

A bulldozing run from young second-row Eva Hunter gets Wigan up the field before Georgia Wilson is pulled up a yard short by excellent Saints defending and the visitors remain in front.

Big chance goes begging for Wigan.

I think Saints have done really well to build pressure. They kept Wigan out early on and managed to take Wigan's game away from them.

Saints have rallied around for each other. They have managed to see out some good attacking shape and good attacking form from Wigan and in games like this when the score line is expected to be tight, it's all about how much time and how much possession who can have with the ball in your hand and Saints have managed to see that through.

They've shown that experience where they are happy to see out the sets.

They can be happy with the opening half, they settled into the game well without too much damage on the score line and just managed to take their opportunities when they came.

A really positive half from Saints.

It's been pure entertainment to be honest. I'm glad that this is the Grand Final and we're advertising the women's game really well.

I think both sides have been in it and it just depends on who wants it more now.

It's been a terrific first 40 minutes and at the break it is Saints who lead!

Wigan opened the scoring when Anna Davies crashed over in the right corner but Saints did not let their heads drop and levelled through Dani McGifford's 20th try of the season.

Then, at the end of the half, Phoebe Hook grabbed the lead the Saints, touching down under significant pressure.

Stay with us for the second half of this one!

  19. 'Fantastic from Hook'published at 18:17 BST 5 October

    Wigan 4-8 St Helens

    Armani Sharrock
North Wales Crusaders Women's assistant coach on BBC Radio Merseyside

Fantastic there from Phoebe Hook and she capitalises on so much pressure.

It was fantastic strength out on that edge and again it comes on the back of plenty of Saints pressure, plenty of repeat sets and Saints just finding that little bit of process, forcing the errors from Wigan and asking the questions.

Pressure makes points and Saints have turned up with them.

The side that scores before half-time breaks that deficit, breaks that deadlock and go in the happier of the two.

  20. try

TRY: Wigan 4-8 St Helenspublished at 18:15 BST 5 October

    Phoebe Hook

Phoebe Hook crashes over in the right corner and Saints have turned this match around!

It's a good team move as Saints move right with ball in hand and somehow Hook, under pressure from four players, manages to touch down and the grounding is good.

Faye Gaskin's conversion attempt doesn't have the legs but, nevertheless, Saints will be delighted with the position they are in.
