Jonathan Joseph showed his international credentials in Bath's European Champions Cup victory over Toulouse, says coach Toby Booth.

Joseph scored his side's third try and set up Francois Louw for the fourth, as Bath claimed a 35-18 bonus point win over the four-time European champions.

The 23-year-old outside centre, who has six England caps, but none since 2013, was also named man of the match.

"He's fantastic. He's always had those qualities," said Booth.

"As he's got older and matured more, he's delivering on a regular basis."

Joseph, who signed a new Bath contract last week, has scored six tries in 12 Premiership games so far this season.

He was added to Stuart Lancaster's squad as injury cover during the autumn internationals, but has not played a Test for England since their summer tour to Argentina in June over 18 months ago.

However, his timely performance in France could aid his chances of a Six Nations place, with the squad to be announced later this week.

"It's coming up to an international window, and I'm not sure Jonathan can do any more [to impress]," added Booth.

"From an international point of view, and a club point of view, you want that consistency. That's what everyone craves.

"Everyone has got behind him. Along with Kyle Eastmond, they've been impressive all season. We're delighted he's doing all he can to show people what he can do."

Sunday's win for Bath kept them in the race for top spot in Pool Four and automatic qualification into the knock-out stages of the Champions Cup.

With the final round of group games to come, Toulouse are a point ahead of Bath and two clear of third-place Glasgow, who travel to The Rec on Sunday.

Whichever team fails to finish top will be compete for a best runners-up spot.

"We're delighted with the outcome and it keeps our chances alive," said Booth. "The manner in which we did it was very encouraging and it was very impressive.

"It wasn't easy out there, we were under extreme pressure. We needed to be at our best and I'm delighted we've come through that challenge."
