Jersey have appointed Connacht senior fitness coach Jim Molony as their new strength and conditioning coach.

Molony replaces Jake Aliker, who left to become personal trainer for Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen.

He joined Connacht in 2011 after spending two years working for Munster.

"Jim comes to us highly recommended after doing some great work in getting Connacht players in shape for their Pro 12 and European campaigns," said Jersey boss Harvey Biljon.

"He joins us with around a third of our 29-game season to go, so his immediate priority will be to keep the players in shape and ready for the important final stretch of the season.

"The key period of anyone in a strength and conditioning role is pre-season, and over the coming months he will be able to analyse how the club operates and have his own input so that he is ready to welcome members of the squad back in June and begin the hard work of building towards the new season."
