Cornish Pirates: Laurie McGlone & Luke Jones agree new deals

Laurie McGlone has scored seven tries in his time at Cornish Pirates

Veteran Cornish Pirates forward Laurie McGlone has agreed a deal for next season, along with winger Luke Jones.

McGlone, 36, joined the Pirates from Coventry in 2009 and has played 138 times for the Championship club.

Former England Under-18s international Jones , external but has missed most of this season with a broken leg.

The duo follow , external , external Matt Bolwell and Marcus Garratt in agreeing new deals.

"Laurie has been a cornerstone of our pack since I first arrived in Cornwall. He is the archetypal you get what it says on the tin type of rugby player," said director of rugby Ian Davies.

"Luke has developed well under Gavin Cattle's guidance and was unfortunate to get injured just as he was starting to break into the starting XV. With a good pre-season and I'm sure the opportunity will come again."
