Championship side Cornish Pirates have signed seven Exeter Chiefs players on dual-registration deals for the forthcoming season.

Full-back Max Bodilly is the most experienced of the group, having played six times in the Premiership and twice in the Champions Cup.

He returns to the Mennaye as do Tom Hendrickson, Jack Innard, Sam Simmonds and Stuart Townsend.

Sean Lonsdale and Josh Caulfield will join Pirates for the first time.

The club has also signed two players from the Royal Navy - Cornish-born lock Edd Pascoe and Fijian back-row Timoci Kava are both based in Cornwall at HMS Raleigh and RNAS Culdrose respectively.

The Pirates have also confirmed that Chris Morgan will captain the side for a third successive season.

The 35-year-old back-row has been with the club for eight years and missed most of last season with a shoulder injury.
