Three tries in the last 12 minutes helped Cornish Pirates to a bonus-point win over Nottingham, ending a run of three home Championship defeats.

Max Bodilly and Kyle Moyle went over in the first half, with the visitors' only score coming from Sam Olver's penalty.

But Charlie Thacker and Ben Hooper then scored for Nottingham before a long-range Olver kick made it 20-20.

With time running out Moyle, Nicolas De Battista and Dan Lee grabbed converted tries to seal it in style for Pirates.

Cornish Pirates coach Gavin Cattle told BBC Radio Cornwall: "For 60 minutes of that game, we were by far the stronger team, but we had a 20 minute spell where, in fairness to Nottingham, they were offloading in attack pretty effectively.

"I'm just really happy that we didn't panic - we were controlling that final third, in their 22 and I'm just glad the boys stuck to their guns and got the rewards they deserved.

"For large parts of that game I thought we played an attractive brand of rugby - we had that blip for 20 minutes, but that happens."
