Bath's Finn Russell speaking to BBC Radio Bristol:

"It's brilliant. I think for this group of players, the team, the city of Bath, I think that's a big step forward.

"Our job as players is not finished yet, we've got a game next week and then a semi-final, so it's brilliant to enjoy this and we'll enjoy it tonight but come Monday or Tuesday we'll be back to our job.

"But in terms of us as a group of players having lost the final closely last year, it's a big step forward getting to another final and winning it.

"They were very tough and with two yellow cards we made it hard for ourselves at times but I think it showed how close we are as a group.

"We have a massive belief and confidence that we've got within ourselves, and trust in the system shows how far we've come and how good we are as a team."

  4. 'Big dreams make a man's blood stir'published at 22:44 British Summer Time 23 May

    FT: Bath 37-12 Lyon

    More from Johann van Graan:

"A lot of these players played in the team when Bath finished last in the Premiership and they're European champions tonight.

"You've got to dream big dreams because they make a man's blood stir and we'll want more and more after this.

"We'll keep our feet on the ground but tonight, and only tonight we are absolutely going to love this moment."

  5. 'We've grown in our belief' - Du Toitpublished at 22:40 British Summer Time 23 May

    FT: Bath 37-12 Lyon

Bath's Thomas du Toit speaking to BBC Radio Bristol:

"It was a proper match. They gave it everything just as we tried to give everything.

"It's unreal as we walked out, to see all of the Bath supporters, you kind of had to take a moment to look back and see everyone supporting us.

"We've grown in our belief and we have to keep going now. We're a club that wants to win trophies and we don't want to settle for anything less.

"So we're going to continue working hard, the season is not over, it's a good step in our season and we're finding our groove now but there are still some more games to go.

"I wouldn't change anything, this is a brilliant moment."

  6. 'This is a big moment for us'published at 22:36 British Summer Time 23 May

    FT: Bath 37-12 Lyon

Bath director of rugby Johann van Graan told Premier TV:

"This is a champion team now and we'll try to get better and better. More things to conquer but for now we'll pause and enjoy the moment for what it is.

"We said last night this is a moment in time, this is not the start or the end, this is a moment in time. This is a big moment for us.

"The difference this season is we look to get better every single day and everyone wants to get better. It's all of us."

Bath director of rugby Johann van Graan told Premier Sports:

"I'm grateful and incredibly happy for all the people of Bath.

"When we started in July 2022 and said it's not going to be about me, it's going to be about this club and make people happy and make players better.

"The best is yet to come after tonight. I'm ecstatic for all involved.

"I've been coaching for 23 years but what happened today was special."

Bath's number eight Alfie Barbeary told Premier Sports:

    "It's class - we've loved every minute. It's a great group.

"We have such a competitive back row. If my role's off the bench, I'll take it, as long as I'm involved. It's brilliant playing games like this.

"We've still got a big job. Our next goal's the Premiership and we're going to enjoy this now, but then focus on that."

  9. 'You feel more grateful' - Underhillpublished at 22:23 British Summer Time 23 May

    FT: Bath 37-12 Lyon

More from Sam Underhill on BBC Radio Bristol:

"It makes you reflect, you feel more grateful than anything because everyone works hard in sport but you need a bit of luck as well, you need a bit of timing, the right people and the right place.

"This is obviously where we don't want to stop and that's the nice thing about this group, it's down to earth."

    On his yellow card:

"It was hard to sum up the emotion there. It was my fault, I've got no complaints about that but to know the boys have got your back in the 10 minutes was incredible. I feel a bit guilty for the 10 minutes and it's not where I wanted to be but it probably won't take away from the day."

  10. 'I'm just so proud of everyone' - Underhillpublished at 22:16 British Summer Time 23 May

Bath's Sam Underhill speaking to BBC Radio Bristol:

"To be fair to Lyon they did not stop up until the last minute.

"It hasn't sunk in yet, I'm just so proud of everyone. It's an amazing group and an amazing place to play. Not just because of the players but because of the staff and the people behind the scenes as well and the coaches.

"It will probably sink in, in the future but for now I'm just delighted that everybody who supported us and worked so hard to get us here can get a bit of enjoyment and credit."

It's a lovely night for Bath.

Lyon did well to get to this final but they really weren't a side collectively to beat a Bath team who have swept most sides away this year.

All credit to the players, they look a good side.

The best side won tonight by a country mile and they could have won by more if they were a little bit more disciplined in the first half.

  12. 'On track for historic treble'published at 22:05 British Summer Time 23 May

    FT: Bath 37-12 Lyon

It wasn't the prettiest performance at times, but Bath won't mind one bit.

They have their first European trophy in 17 years and are very much still on track for what could be a history-making treble season.

Club captain Ben Spencer - who was named player of the match and also came away with a try to his name - just came over to our side of the stadium and let out a roar in front of a wave of blue flags.

Very soon he will lift the Challenge Cup trophy in the air, as the podium is quickly being put together in the middle of the pitch.

There are lots of very happy Bath faces out there right now and even more happy fans all standing up to watch them.

More from man-of-the-match Ben Spencer to Premier Sports:

"I thought we showed a different level of intensity tonight that we've not seen this season.

"I'm just so proud to be able to give the fans what they deserve after so many years of hurt.

"It's about enjoying tonight now as a team and we'll move on to Sarries next week.

"I couldn't be prouder to lead this group and I'm looking forward to celebrating tonight with the boys."

  14. 'Togetherness in this group absolutely unbelievable'published at 22:02 British Summer Time 23 May

    FT: Bath 37-12 Lyon

Speaking to Premier Sports, man-of-the-match Ben Spencer said:

"We speak a lot about working hard for each other and the yellow card period is something we pride ourselves on.

"When we go down to 14 it's not an ideal situation, but to not concede in that yellow card period I thought was outstanding.

"The togetherness in this group is absolutely unbelievable. It's something we spoke about before the game in just being the best version of ourselves tonight and not playing the occasion, just playing the game."

  15. 'Bath looked bigger and stronger'published at 22:02 British Summer Time 23 May

There was only one side in it come the end. There were little flashes of nice stuff from Lyon but really it was all about Bath. They had two men in the bin and still had enough power up front to win the game.

It was a difference between the has and has-nots. Certainly Bath looked bigger and stronger, more of a collective team who deserved their points and well worth their big score in the end.

Bath have got their second bit of silverware and everybody in the blue, black and white are ecstatic about that.

So, just seen last comment from (it has to be said, Bath great and a fella I met a couple of times top bloke) Coochie [Gareth Chilcott]. Re: comment, not got out of second gear... I sincerely hope that with all this talent and taking apart of a substandard Lyon side tonight Bath lift the main silver pot next year and not the division down. Sure, let’s enjoy but surely we need more.

Bath supporters - it's time to celebrate!

The West Country side are such a brilliant second-half team and they have completely turned the screw after the break.

    A mature, controlled performance.

A first European trophy since 2008 and part two of the treble is secure.

Lyon win a penalty in stoppage time and keep on running the ball in search of some pride restoration.

Bath are having none of it though and continue to tackle as if the result is in danger. They have been ruthless.

Tom Carr-Smith eventually wins the ball back and kicks into touch. That's it.

  20. 'No shape to Lyon'published at 21:53 British Summer Time 23 May

There's no shape to Lyon, let's just get it to a red shirt and that will be enough.

They're not running onto the ball, they're not breaking tackles it's just looks a mess.
