    Away we go.

Both teams are in their traditional colours - Argentina in sky blue and white; Scotland in navy blue.

Only me that cares about that sort of thing?

It's a wee bit chilly in the capital, but there's not a breath of wind. Perfect conditions.

Argentina are the new France. In years gone by you’d never know the French team that would turn up. They’ve passed that mantle onto Argentina. One week they’ll thump the All Blacks, next week they’ll get stuffed by the Boks. Could easily see them winning or losing by 25 points today.

The players emerge from the tunnel - Darcy Graham leads Scotland out on his 50th cap.

He's got a massive grin on his face.

Juan Martin Gonzalez and Juan Cruz Mallia are making their 50th appearances for Argentina also.

  6. Scotland 'want to play at pace'published at 14:58 GMT

    Scotland v Argentina (15:10)

Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend tells BBC Radio Scotland: "Late last night I got a message [about Ben White] just before I went to bed. It was just bad timing. He's still feeling ropey this morning.

"Both nines played well last week. It's a great opportunity for [Jamie Dobie]. We definitely want to see his strengths, which are his running game and also his defence.

"[Argentina] are a tough opposition. They're a very cohesive team. We know each other well - coaching groups, we know each other well, we were playing five-a-side football the other night.

"I've been really impressed with Argentina, I've got a lot of respect for the rugby they play and the improvements they've made.

"Similar philosophies. We want to move the ball around and play at pace and we back our players to make decisions. I see that with Argentina but they do defend differently. They go to the air a bit more because they've got some excellent players in the air.

"We have to win because that's our job here."

100% agree with Peter Wright. Time for a change. Would be gutted for Glasgow to lose Franco Smith but he is ideal for Scotland.

To be competitive in the World Cup, you have to beat the likes of New Zealand or South Africa.

Is Gregor [Townsend] the guy? I don't think he is. I think he's run his course.

We have a guy in the background who could take us to that next stage, Franco Smith.

Over the years, you have always worried about Argentina's physicality - they are horrible to play against and full of aggression.

But they now also have a back division that are world class.

A quick scan of the 23-man squad tells you Argentina are a serious team. Eighteen of them play in the top division in England or France.

Inside centre Santiago Chocobares has been a vital cog in the Toulouse winning machine, scoring in last season's Top 14 final, and has a serious argument to be considered the best in the world in his position.

Santiago Carreras, the leading points scorer in this year's Rugby Championship, is one of the best in the world off the tee, never mind the electric ability in open field he has shown with Gloucester, and now Bath, in the past five years.

Carreras is not even in the starting team for Murrayfield.

Among the forwards, the Pumas' most-capped player ever, the bruising and gnarled Pablo Matera, is also on the bench, while captain Julian Montoya, a Premiership winner with Leicester Tigers, leads from hooker for his 116th cap.

Argentina have always had world class players. Head coach Contepomi was in the team that stunned the sport by finishing third at the 2007 World Cup.

The difference now is the depth of squad and the depth of experience of playing top-level rugby across the world.

  16. Will Scotland start taking chances?published at 14:27 GMT

    Lisa Martin
Former Scotland captain on BBC Radio Scotland

We are now at the stage where we are creating all these chances when, for years, we were relying on the boot of a Chris Paterson or Dan Parks, or Greg Laidlaw.

We just have to start taking them as we can't allow a team like New Zealand or Argentina to establish a lead.

Darcy Graham brings up 50 caps for his country today.

The 28-year-old has 34 Test tries, the current record alongside team-mate Duhan van der Merwe.

Reflecting on his journey from playing with his hometown team Hawick to a half century of caps, Graham said he would never have expected to reach this landmark.

"I've got half of Hawick coming up so it should be an awesome atmosphere and special day," he said.

"They come up in numbers so it will be class having them there to share a special day.

"Playing for Hawick feels like yesterday and I'd love go back and play for them and play with my pals again.

"Fifty caps has come up quickly and I've had my injuries along the way. That's part of the game and it's the way I play, I put my body on the line"

Scotland winger Darcy Graham came agonisingly close to his 35th international try against the All Blacks.

Kiwi scrum-half Cam Roigard knocked the ball from Graham's grasp with the try-line - and the lead - beckoning.
