Tom Curry is having an awesome game. There was a lot made of him starting ahead of Jac Morgan and Josh van der Flier but he is on fire at the moment. He has been physical in defence and attack – it's been a really good performance.

You wonder what impact the Lions' bench will have on this one. It has considerably more fire power than Australia's bench.

The Wallabies are hanging it on it feels.

Matt: Curry and Genge have been fantastic so far

John, Braintree: The Lions should be scoring more tries however players are just going for glory rather than choosing the logical choice. Hopefully it won't be costly.

  6. Half-time - Australia 5-17 Lionspublished at 11:48 British Summer Time 19 July

    BOOM!

Tom Curry smashes Tom Lynagh in the air. Only slightly mistimed and that penalty ends the half.

You can tell how pumped up Curry is.

  7. 'That's why these players are the best'published at 11:47 British Summer Time 19 July

    Australia 5-17 Lions

    Chris Ashton
    Former England wing

In previous weeks, the Lions made errors in attack, we haven’t seen that today. That’s why these players are the best we have to offer because they have turned it on.

Robin, Coventry: That all came from a needless downfield kick from the Lions. Just keep the ball.

Rachel T, Lincoln: The Lions cannot sit back and think their blindingly obvious superiority will get points on the board. They have to stay focused on getting the small things right.

Alex: Both Lions wings really struggling with their kicking game so far. Maybe keep it in hands?

The Wallabies spoil the ball on the ground to end another dangerous Lions attack. That area is somewhere they have got right.

Other than that, not much has gone right.

  10. try

    Tom Curry (con Finn Russell)

    It was coming!

Tom Curry powers over to further vindicate his spot in the starting team.

Another clean strike from Finn Russell to add the extras.

James Lowe can't get his hands free and another chance goes. That ball had to go. The Lions win a penalty and go for the corner.

This is a really good response from the Lions. Huw Jones goes close as the Lions go battering towards the tryline.

The Lions force their way into Australia's 22. A try now would be huge but Joe McCarthy can't dot down Finn Russell's cross-field kick.

A winger would have had the pace to finish it. Too much for McCarthy to do, he did get a hand on it.

Why is he on the wing?

    Chris Jones
BBC rugby union correspondent at Suncorp Stadium

A determined local tries to spark some noise from the home fans in the stadium, but his cries of "Aussie, Aussie, Aussie" are met with just a murmur of acquiescence.

Yes, it's only 10 points, but the gulf between the sides looks stark. There wasn't much belief from the Aussie rugby public before the game, and there has been little in the first 25 minutes to instil any confidence.

But while the Lions have dominated, they have also made a few mistakes. They could be out of sight.

Some pushing and shoving breaks out with big Joe McCarthy in the middle of it, living up to his role as 'the enforcer'.

The Wallabies have the last laugh after winning the resulting scrum penalty.

Andy Farrell more than once referenced 'big game players' in his media conference and Tadgh Beirne is living up to the tag. On his first start for the Lions he's won two turnovers and made the most tackles after 23 minutes.
