    Ouch!

This is where Wales really need some big ball-carriers but they just don't have them.

They spread the ball wide but Ireland match them man for man.

    There's a penalty coming.

    John Barclay
Former Scotland captain on BBC One

Ireland know where to bring you narrow, narrow you up so you feel comfortable but then stretch you with the players in the wider channels.

Wales will be reasonably happy. They're playing against one of the best teams in the world. They just haven't played enough rugby in Ireland's 22.

    Ireland blow an open goal!

They did so well to create an acre of space out wide but Jamie Osbourne's pass was too far in front of Garry Ringrose and the ball flies out of play.

    That was a sitter!

That was great build-up play. Fair play to Rogers, he did all the hard work to get his hands free and sucks in two Irish players.

You'd expect someone of Tomos Williams' quality to have caught that. He was in!

That was great from Wales though, that was a move you know they would've trained and prepared before the game.

    Richie Rees
Former Wales international on BBC Radio Wales

We're seeing a different brand of rugby from Wales. There's a little bit of a licence, the chains are off and the players are really having a crack.

  11. Close!published at 26 mins

    Wales 3-10 Ireland

Oh Tomos Williams spills an inside pass from Jac Morgan and he would have been through then.

Max Llewellyn carried straight and hard to offer the initial thrust.

Wales are already looking far better in attack than the previous two games.

Wales spread the ball wide and new cap Ellis Mee gets his first chance to attack.

He puts his foot down and kicks ahead and suddenly the Welsh crowd has something to cheer.

It's hard for Gareth Thomas to come on and his first job is to scrum. The scrum's been going so well for Wales so far, so you know he's going to feel that.

He'll want to put that right next time!

Oh dear. Gareth Thomas has only just come on in place of Nicky Smith and he's conceded a penalty at his first scrum.

Just to add to Wales' frustration.

  18. Replacementpublished at 19 mins

Wales prop Nicky Smith has been told to come off for a head injury assessment that he doesn't appear to agree with.

    Gareth Thomas comes on.

Ireland knew they'd have to weather the early storm. They've done that, their breakdown work is brilliant but the scrum will be a concern.

They look like they're just warming up though.

Great defence by Wales, great tackling, and eventually Ireland ran out of numbers.

But they look threatening, they can move the ball so quickly. That's what Wales need to stop if they want a chance.
