The battle for Test back-row spots is one of the fiercest.

Tom Curry isn't showing up in the stats as much as he might like.

The openside has made five metres from four carries - both down on fellow back rows Jack Conan and Ollie Chessum - while he has made seven tackles and missed two.

Perhaps most worrying for him is the Lions being bested at the breakdown. The Brumbies have secured eight turnovers to the Lions' six. The tourists have also given away six penalties to the hosts' five.

The Lions are never at their best in the warm-up games, and the Brumbies have always provided a stern examination on previous tours. The Lions have to manage their (newly assembled) squad to play twice a week for 5-6 weeks straight, and what matters is the Tests against Australia. For those questioning the supposed weakness of the opposition in these warm-up games, I'd argue that club sides are currently comparable with the Wallabies in terms of quality. Club rugby in the southern hemisphere is of a very high standard, making their international sides consistently strong, so the Lions will never face an easy game on tour.

Andy Farrell regularly uses a centre on the bench in the number 23 jersey.

That injury to Blair Kinghorn is covered by Marcus Smith and you wonder if he delivers in the second half, will he make the Test bench?

That means Farrell could go for a big hitter - Sione Tuipulotu or Bundee Aki on the bench, which he likes to do.

With the first Test in mind the focus is very much on the Lions midfield and back row so how have they been doing?

Garry Ringrose and Bundee Aki have both been prominent in the first half. Both have made line breaks and have been strong in defence.

Huw Jones certainly put his hand up for selection with his performance against the Waratahs but the Irish duo have been very good.

In the back row, Ollie Chessum took his try well and Tom Curry showed great hands to put Marcus Smith over for his try.

The breakdown has been under pressure from the Brumbies and Josh Van der Flier and Henry Pollock are waiting to be unleashed in the second half and stake their claims.

Still don't think the back row is settled yet.

George North in 2013 or Sean O'Brien in 2017..?

Rugby Union Weekly is back with episode three of the Top 10 series as Matt Dawson and Jamie Roberts compile their list of the best tries in a Lions Test series.

Where will Dawson's dummy in 1997 rank? Does Jamie's try in the third Test in 2013 make the cut?

Have the former Lions got it right or have they missed out on an obvious Top 10 contender?

Very good Lions try. That was much better decision-making with the ball. Ringrose with the dummy, Russell flat to the line, offload to Curry and Smith running a good support line.

The best rugby looks simple, but is hard to do.

The Lions will be pleased with that. It is a proper test and just what they need.

Another slow start will annoy Andy Farrell but his side's response has been excellent.

    Excellent!

Finn Russell puts Tom Curry through a gap and he offloads the ball to Marcus Smith.

Smith has enough pace to get away and score.

Garry Ringrose was excellent prior to that with some great footwork.

Russell nails the conversion. His kicking on tour has been outstanding.

There are only two specialist full-backs left in the squad following Daly's injury. With Kinghorn going off this is a big opportunity for Marcus Smith to show he should be in the Test match 23.

    Well deserved.

Dan Sheehan has been super busy in the opening stages.

The Lions hooker is the leading metre-maker among the forwards (29m), joint-top for carries among the pack (four), has beaten one defender and made seven tackles, another top stat among the forwards.
