Interesting that Spain are not even competing for any of the Welsh lineouts... they're clearly aware of the threat of Wales' driving lineout and are staying on the ground.

Easy pickings for Abbie Fleming and Georgia Evans.

    Wales 14-0 Spain

Spain have got down to the Welsh 22 once again, they have looked fragile defensively but have caused a few problems with ball in hand.

That being said, Wales win a penalty at the breakdown and Lleucu George clears up to halfway.

Two great tries to start the game, what we need now is accuracy when dealing with the ball.

I think a June game really suits Wales!

They're playing with loads of confidence.

    Abbie Fleming, con Keira Bevan

After a quick TMO check, Wales have their second try of the game!

Abbie Fleming only has a yard to go when she picks the ball up, and she powers through two yellow shirts to touch the ball down.

Wales look like scoring every time they have the ball in the Spanish half.

Once again Keira Bevan slots over the conversion.

    Wales 7-0 Spain

Total domination at the scrum for Wales.

The yellow shirts of Spain are pushed back rapidly.

Captain Hannah Jones breaks a tackle to get Wales back into the Spanish 22.

They are within a few yards of a second try!

    Wales 7-0 Spain

The danger has been averted for Wales, and they are now on the front foot once again.

They work the ball into the Spanish half once more but another knock-on means Spain will have the put-in at the scrum just outside their own 22.

They really forced the turnover there.

Alex Callender just doing what she does best.

    A great start for Wales.

That's a real team try, I think pretty much everyone touched the ball!

Great play from Wales who are playing with confidence.

    Wales 7-0 Spain

Alex Callender is doing it all right now.

After scoring the game's opening try, she has now pinched the ball back on her own five-metre line.

The likes of Gwenllian Pyrs and Sislia Tuipulotu carrying well there to make the initial damage.

That will really settle any Welsh nerves.

  13. Postpublished at 7 mins

    Wales 7-0 Spain

Spain get a metre from the Welsh try line before losing it at the breakdown, but a needless forward pass from Wales gifts momentum straight back to the Spanish.

They will need a better scrum this time around though.

  14. Postpublished at 6 mins

    Wales 7-0 Spain

Spain win their first penalty of the game and kick into the Welsh corner.

It's a really good kick from Amalia Argudo, and the visitors have a line-out to attack the Welsh defence from a few metres out.

What a brilliant start for Wales.

They just create that gap in the Spanish defence and Alex Callender is straight through.

Callender, with a leg drive from that distance, you're never going to stop her.

    That did not take long!

Gwenllian Pyrs makes good metres with a strong carry, before a lovely inside pass from Bethan Lewis is caught by Alex Callender, who shrugs off a weak tackle before crossing for the opening try of the game.

Can't say Wales don't deserve it for the way they have started.

Keira Bevan adds the extras, and Wales' lead extends to seven.

Spain win the ball back at the breakdown but once again kick it straight back to Wales who come once more.

The red shirts are really on top in the early stages.

I think we all know where Wales' strengths lie and I wouldn't expect the ball to go much beyond the big ball-carriers up front.

It's a positive sign that Wales are looking to spread play wide early on.

Wales win the scrum, and win it comfortably.

They are back on the attack and have worked themselves into the Spanish 22 after some nice metres made by Carys Cox on the wing.
