Well, it's been a pretty convincing weekend of Test rugby for the sides from the Southern hemisphere.

It's a clean sweep for them against the home nations this week. Argentina also thumped Italy as well.

Will it be different for the rest of this month?

  3. 'Score line flatters us' - Etzebethpublished at 18:36 Greenwich Mean Time 10 November

    FT: Scotland 15-32 South Africa

South Africa captain and player of the match Eben Etzebeth on TNT Sports: "A tough Test match. Scotland are a quality side to play against. They really gave us some issues in the first half. In the end the score line flatters us a bit. It was definitely closer than the score line suggests.

"It was a great performance from the guys and a great one to start with. Credit to [defence coach] Jerry Flannery, we put a lot of effort and detail into keeping teams out."

Scotland had eight visits to South Africa's 22 and did not score a try.

But for South Africa, at its core rugby is a simple game and about creating pressure. They weren't at their best but with scrum power, and a strong kicking game they were able to get the job done.

It wasn't great refereeing today. It's consistency you ask for, and what is strikingly obvious is that refereeing in world rugby is all over the place.

The game is about opinion, it's not black and white - what frustrates me is the top five referees in the world would referee the same game five different ways.

That win for South Africa takes them back to the top of the world rankings, with Ireland slipping down.

No matter what the rankings said before kick-off, I think the Boks could rightfully call themselves the world's best.

Now, with the Webb Ellis cup still in the cabinet as well, there isn't much disputing it.

There will be disappointment. Scotland did so well to scrap and stay in that. To limit South Africa to only one turnover is incredible.

They will be disappointed they didn't really stress SA defensively. They did it at times, but then slowed themselves down when they got close to the try line.

  9. 'We didn't get the rub of the green with decisions'published at 18:19 Greenwich Mean Time 10 November

    FT: Scotland 15-32 South Africa

Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend tells BBC Scotland: "A lot of pride in the performance. I thought it was a brilliant Test match - hugely physical.

"We matched South Africa for a lot of the game and we were down to 14 for 20 minutes. I thought the team looked mentally strong.

"A couple of skill errors cost us and we didn't get the rub of the green with decisions, clearly. South Africa then showed their power in the last 10 minutes.

"That effort in the second half was outstanding. To open up their defence at times and match their physicality. We will be frustrated because there were a couple of opportunities out there.

"We played one of our best games of the last few years today, and we pushed the world champions very close. There are areas we have to improve, but some of the defence today was world class. The effort that went in is all we want from a Scotland team.

"We know we could have executed better and had decisions go against us, but they deserved to win, South Africa."

  10. South Africa snuff out Scotlandpublished at 18:17 Greenwich Mean Time 10 November

    FT: Scotland 15-32 South Africa

For the second game in a row, Scotland have failed to score a try against South Africa. They had more opportunities here than they did in the World Cup defeat in Marseille 13 months ago, but that's not much consolation.

It's now nine wins on the spin for the Springboks against Scotland, and 16 victories from the last 17 meetings.

    Brutal.

The scoreboard is cruel for Scotland. There was no way it was a 17-point game.

The opportunities Scotland created in the second half, they had five or six chances in the 22 which they probably should have scored from.

But a combination of a lack of accuracy and good scramble defence kept them out. But you've got to take your hat off to Scotland who took a lot pf punishment.

They can be proud of what they did, but they'll be frustrated too.

  14. Full-time - Scotland 15-32 South Africapublished at 17:59 Greenwich Mean Time 10 November

The world champions prove too strong for Scotland, who will leave Murrayfield with regrets.

Their attack did not fire even when their defence and breakdown work kept them in the game.

South Africa, when they looked on the edge, regained control at the end to see out the game comfortably. Brutal efficiency from them.

    Yet again.

Try - Scotland 15-32 South Africapublished at 80 mins

    Jasper Wiese

    Yes, they can.

Power, power, power at the scrum. Penalty advantage, but they don't need it as Wiese scrambles over the line.

Pollard curls a beauty in to rub salt into Scottish wounds.

The Boks ease to victory in the end.

Scotland can't even get their hands on the ball now. South Africa are just imperious at closing out games.

Remember, they won three knockout games by a point to win the World Cup 13 months ago.

  19. Penalty - Scotland 15-25 South Africapublished at 73 mins

    Handre Pollard

Pollard kicks it over from right in front of the posts.

The Boks move beyond a converted try, and this game is coming to a rather predictable end.

    Scotland 15-22 South Africa

Oh dear, Scotland knock on in their own 22.

It looked like it came off a boot in the ruck there. Tom Jordan goes off having had 11 carries for 144m. What a performance at full-back, which is not his natural position.

Scotland compound the knock on with a penalty. That might be that.
