The game is reflecting the conditions. Line-out time is tricky for both teams and there has been a lot of kicking. Both sides have dealt with it well so far, but I think we are going to see handling errors so it might actually be better not to have the ball.

We don't know how this game will turn out but as the Wallabies have gotten better in each Test I’m wondering if Joe Schmidt regrets not having more warm-up games.
Australia only had the one, a narrow win over Fiji, to prepare for the Lions series.
Surely a couple more would have had them battle hardened before the first Test?

I know teams these days so often eschew going for the three points, but in this weather it doesn't feel the right call to kick for the corner rather than go for goal from bang in front.
Eight points is a really decent lead in these conditions.
But the Wallabies force a knock on so will have another crack.
The Lions manage to disrupt the rolling maul to win a scrum. Huge defence on their own tryline. Why not kick the easy three points? It is my biggest hate in rugby. Take the points.
Saying that, Australia have just won the ball back again after Bundee Aki's drop.
Australia make really good progress and win another penalty. Nic White has been excellent. Big call as the hosts turn down an easy kickable penalty to search for a try.
Having a Pietsch of a gamepublished at 11:30 British Summer Time 2 August

Both sides have tried to be ambitious in the opening quarter - throwing long in the lineout, moving the ball in the midfield - but the conditions are going to make it almost impossible to play any kind of detailed rugby.
Both teams have started to drastically simplify their game-plans in the monsoon.
The Wallaby scrum has been dominant and wing Dylan Pietsch has been everywhere.
I can't remember watching a game in worse conditions. And with all that, Tom Wright just misses out on a trademark 50-22. The pitch has just been described as a "swimming pool".

Both packs are slipping and sliding all over the place and it's affecting the performances of both sides. In effect it’s a dead rubber, but it hasn’t diminished the atmosphere in Sydney.
