    Scotland 0-7 Ireland

Blair Kinghorn makes an almighty mess of this.

He dallies in his own 22, jinking side to side before having a kick charged down.

Ireland win themselves a penalty and have a wonderful opportunity to score their second try.

    Scotland 0-7 Ireland

That mood brightens ever so slightly as Darcy Graham dumps Robbie Henshaw on his backside, and Scotland then win a penalty at the breakdown.

The mood inside Murrayfield has certainly darkened.

Ireland made hard work of their period of numerical advantage last week against England after Marcus Smith's yellow card.

They need to keep the scoreboard pressure on here otherwise it'll feel like a mini-win for the hosts.

It is a probability thing. I don't think Calvin Nash would get to the ball. I don't think it is a penalty try as the try must have been scored.

A yellow card wouldn't have been given on another day.

  5. Postpublished at 15 mins

    Scotland 0-7 Ireland

Ireland maul their way over the Scotland line, but the home defence hold it up.

Brief respite as Blair Kinghorn boots a goal-line drop-out downfield.

It's difficult playing Ireland but you can't beat yourself.

Scotland need to be more accurate with the ball.

Ireland aren't stressed at the moment.

  7. Sin-bin Duhan van der Merwe (Scotland)published at 14 mins

    Scotland 0-7 Ireland

Scotland couldn't have had a much worse start.

They have escaped a penalty try against though.

Duhan van der Merwe is shown a yellow card and trudges off for 10 minutes on the sidelines.

Ireland kick the resulting penalty into the corner.

  8. Postpublished at 14 mins

    Scotland 0-7 Ireland

    It didn't bounce into touch.

Van der Merwe and Scotland are in trouble, I would suggest.

The question is would Calvin Nash have got to ball anyway?

It was a silly nudge. I would say penalty and no more.

  10. Postpublished at 14 mins

    Scotland 0-7 Ireland

    Now then...

Ireland winger Calvin Nash chases down a kick through and is barged over by Duhan van der Merwe.

Nash looked nailed on to score, but had the ball already gone into touch?

Ben White appears to have lost a contact lens, so there's a slight pause in proceedings.

While we wait, just a reminder that, as well as watching the BBC One coverage, you can also listen to not one, not two, but three radio commentaries from Murrayfield.

Radio 5 live, Radio Scotland and Radio Ulster are all available behind the watch and listen tab.

  12. Ireland start fastpublished at 15:12 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February

    Ireland 7-0 Scotland

    Andy Burke
    BBC Sport Scotland at Murrayfield

    An ominous start for Scotland.

Ireland are bossing the collisions and Scotland have been unable to slow down their ball.

The penalties conceded are also racking up quickly and if they don't bring both those things under control it could be a very long afternoon for the Scots.

The perfect start for Ireland, but can Scotland strike back?

All your thoughts please, using the methods above.

  14. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Scotland 0-7 Ireland

Peter O'Mahony makes a real mess of the restart, dropping it under no pressure.

However, referee James Doleman spotted a shove from Matt Fagerson and yet another penalty goes Ireland's way.

  15. 'Damage done up front'published at 15:11 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February

    Scotland 0-7 Ireland

    Sam Warburton
Former Wales captain on BBC One

The damage was done up front. The forwards all had to go in to stop that maul. It was good power up front by Ireland.

    It was good clinical play.

Calvin Nash deputised for Mack Hansen during Ireland's title win last year. That was a simple finish but it'll give him a lift early doors.

Not an easy kick for Sam Prendergast but he nailed it. Nerve settler.

Powerful, assertive start from Ireland's pack and a few furrowed brows inside Murrayfield already.

  17. converted try

Converted try Scotland 0-7 IRELANDpublished at 8 mins

    Calvin Nash

Ireland have a third successive penalty advantage in the bag after Scotland stray offside again, and they take full advantage.

Sam Prendergast demands the ball after a few phases in the forwards, and he floats a lovely pass out wide to Calvin Nash who has a stroll into the corner.

Prendergast nails the conversion and Ireland's early dominance is reflected on the scoreboard.

    Scotland 0-0 Ireland

There's a uncharacteristic fumble in the Irish midfield, but Scotland were pinged for dragging down the lineout.

Sam Prendergast goes to the corner once more.

First sign of why Robbie Henshaw has been brought into the starting team today.

That was a meaty carry into Scottish territory.

Fast starts have eluded Ireland recently. They look determined to put that right here.

  20. 'That was some start from Ireland'published at 15:07 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February

    Scotland 0-0 Ireland

    Chris Paterson
Former Scotland international on BBC One

That is clinical attack from Ireland. The speed of the ball is because they make metres over the gainline.

That was some start from Ireland.
