Brilliant by Dan Sheehan. You need someone like that to break off and have the strength to get over the line.

And the kick from the touchline by Sam Prendergast will do a lot for Ireland confidence.

They've come out the blocks really fast like they did in the first half but this time they're accurate!

Dan Sheehan off the back of the maul!

Ireland win the line-out and the maul rolls towards the line. Sheehan peels off the back and dives over.

Sam Prendergast nails the conversion from out wide. What a start to the second half!

Maxime Lucu may not have the same star quality as Antoine Dupont, but he's only lost once in his 26 French caps.

    Off we go!

    France gather Sam Prendergast's kick.

Right, the players are back out on the pitch.

Can Ireland produce another fightback or will France, without the talismanic Dupont, see this one out?

I've a feeling this will be some 40 minutes.

Ireland have now been behind at half-time in three of their four games in this Six Nations.

How's this for a stat? Ireland have not beaten France in Dublin when losing after 40 minutes since 1928!

Missing the early penalty kick, the yellow card... you can't have a moment like that in the second half in a game of such intensity as this one.

Ireland are only two behind at the half which may not feel like too bad an outcome after those 40 minutes.

The French have been brilliant in the collisions making it tough for Simon Easterby's side to get much momentum.

And that's with seven forwards still to come off the bench.

That said Les Bleus have, understandably, looked a lesser proposition with ball in hand after Dupont's early exit.

This game started brilliantly for Ireland, I think the Dupont injury is massive.

France had certainly got themselves back on top but they've not looked like the same team since he left the field.

We saw Gregory Alldritt going on and moaning about losing him to an injury and wanting it checked almost five minutes later.

Just on that from Donncha, Ireland had 60% possession and 53% territory in that first half.

It seems crazy to say it but despite all the possession and territory they had, Ireland will be happy to go down the tunnel only two points behind.

France lead at half-time, but how big a moment will this be for France?

Antoine Dupont didn't look happy as he was helped off the pitch.

It's a shame to lose the world's best player from the match, but can Ireland take advantage?

Ireland have the ball on halfway and win the penalty advantage.

The clock is in the red as play is brought back, and Ireland have one final shot at the posts.

It's right on the halfway line. Does Sam Prendergast have this distance in his locker?
