    Ben Kay

That's really bright from the French.

The drive was good, they deliberately went in field as soon as they got the advantage and knew they could have another drive set up even closer.

  2. Postpublished at 14:46 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    Ireland 0-5 France

Tadhg Beirne hammers Thomas Ramos after some loose play. It's some hit, but Bielle-Biarrey sends a superb kick into touch to relieve the pressure.

  3. 'Dupont had all the smarts'published at 14:45 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    Ireland 0-5 France

    Donncha O'Callaghan
Former Ireland lock on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Dupont had all the smarts, and a brilliant finish in the corner from Bielle-Biarrey.

It's hard enough with 15 but when you go down to 14, this French team can cut you open anywhere.

    Ireland 0-5 France

It's been all Ireland so far, but France have struck twice (once, legally) in their two trips into the Irish half.

  5. try

Try - Ireland 0-5 Francepublished at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    Louis Bielle-Biarrey

    Clinical. France strike first!

Peter O'Mahony can't grab Antoine Dupont off the back of the maul and the scrum-half finds Louis Bielle-Biarrey on the wing, who is able to scamper over.

Thomas Ramos, usually so reliable, sends the conversion wide.

Romain Ntamack sends it into the corner.

What can France do from here?

  7. 'Blatant yellow card'published at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    Ireland 0-0 France

    Donncha O'Callaghan
Former Ireland lock on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

You just can't do that. That's blatant, an absolute yellow card. You need to be cool and calm in those moments and this could cost Ireland.

  8. Sin-bin - Joe McCarthypublished at 14:42 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    Ireland 0-0 France

    It is a yellow.

The crowd don't like it, but McCarthy doesn't have much defence there.

  9. Postpublished at 14:41 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    Ireland 0-0 France

France win the penalty after Thomas Ramos was pulled back by Joe McCarthy as the visitors raced through.

That was pretty clear-cut. We're going to the TMO and I fear, for Ireland's sake, this will be a yellow.

  10. Postpublished at 14:40 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    Ireland 0-0 France

    Jonathan Bradley
BBC Sport NI Journalist at Aviva Stadium

France are committing plenty to their breakdown efforts, potentially leaving their defensive line short if Ireland can get the ball away quickly.

But Shaun Edwards' defence are then using shooters to close out that space in an instant.

Twice already Bielle-Biarrey has had to time things perfectly and then Dupont for that French non-try.

It's a fascinating balancing act so far.

  11. Postpublished at 14:39 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    Ireland 0-0 France

Ireland win the turnover and Sam Prendergast finds touch after a bit of kick tennis.

This has been ridiculously intense, so we're glad of the breather.

  12. Postpublished at 14:38 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    Ireland 0-0 France

Now it's France's turn to try and get on the board (properly, this time).

They're just outside the Irish 22.

  13. 'Rope-a-dope France?'published at 14:37 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    Ireland 0-0 France

    Donncha O'Callaghan
Former Ireland lock on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

This is like a heavyweight boxing fight but France have a huge bench to come on and you wonder are they sitting back on the ropes and letting Ireland fire all the shots to tire them out?

France's defence has been immense. This is so attritional, the amount of work the Ireland pack are having to go through.

  14. Postpublished at 14:37 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    Ireland 0-0 France

    Gordon D'Arcy
    Former Ireland international on ITV

That is the the existential threat that is France in a nut shell and Ireland overplaying with the ball is slow to medium.

  15. Postpublished at 14:36 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    Ireland 0-0 France

Ireland spill the ball forward at the ruck and Ramos boots the ball away.

Ireland come again, but give away the penalty as Francois Cros gets his hands on the ball.

  16. Postpublished at 14:35 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    Ireland 0-0 France

Ireland win the scrum and Keenan looks to find some space out wide.

Bar that one sprint upfield, it's been all Ireland so far.

Can they make this one count?

  17. Disallowed try - Ireland 0-0 Francepublished at 14:34 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    Antoine Dupont

That was clear as day. I'm not entirely sure how that was missed to start with.

Anyway, that's what the TMO is there for.

Ireland will have the scrum, but that was a huge scare of what France are capable of.

  18. try

Try - Ireland 0-5 Francepublished at 14:32 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    Antoine Dupont

    Smash and grab!

It looked like a knock on in the French half from Damian Penaud, but play continues, Penaud races clear and feeds Dupont, who crosses unchallenged.

    This will be reviewed.

  19. 'Important Ireland get on the board'published at 14:32 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    Ireland 0-0 France

    Chris Jones
BBC rugby union correspondent on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Ireland have had 85% of possession, they've completely dominated. France are not in the game yet. It's important Ireland get on the board.

  20. Postpublished at 14:32 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

    Ireland 0-0 France

Louis Bielle-Biarrey isn't the biggest man but he clatters Hugo Keenan back five metres. Big momentum swing.
