Jamie Osborne does so well. He thumps it downfield and Damian Penaud takes his time to gather it, and he's swallowed up by Osborne.

The ball eventually goes out for a line out, but somewhere in the middle of it all Ireland knocked it on and France have the scrum.

Not entirely sure how that happened. Chaos.

That's a lesson for Ireland. You cannot be indisciplined because Ramos will knock it over from anywhere.

Deary me, Ireland give the penalty away from obstruction straight from kick off.

France are going to have a pop at the posts for an immediate response.

It's been an incredible first half. It's been so intense and the amount of energy this Ireland pack have used, you have to reward them with some points.

    Sam Prendergast

He hit the post with his first effort but that one was straight through the upright.

Ireland are suddenly flying forward with a nice, sweeping move off the back of the scrum. Jamie Osborne is almost through but France scramble their defence.

The hosts have the penalty advantage. Sam Prendergast points to the sticks.

Caelan Doris is getting a bit of a lecture from Angus Gardner about speaking to him while he's looking at the TMO.

It's like a headmaster speaking to a pupil, who's six foot four.

Just to balance things out, he's having a similar lecture to Gregory Alldritt, who is now the French skipper with Dupont off the field.

This has been a chaotic 30 minutes. There's an awful lot going on.

Ireland have a scrum on halfway to settle things down a touch.

Louis Bielle-Biarrey looks to chip through but is clattered by Peter O'Mahony.

Angus Gardner says he went for the charge down.

The kick was long anyway, Bielle-Biarrey is quick, but I don't think he's that quick.

Ireland are back to their full 15 players as Joe McCarthy returns to the play.

Nobody will need told how big a blow that is for France but, as Dupont departs, remember they now have used the sole back on their bench too.

There was always going to be a nervousness around Ireland's lack of ability to convert early on when they had all that possession.

France have slowly got themselves into the game defensively initially, and then their ability to attack.

They're starting to click through the gears now.

  15. Replacement - Dupont offpublished at 14:53 Greenwich Mean Time 8 March

That's a shame, Antoine Dupont done for the day. It seems he hurt his knee as he challenged Dan Sheehan.

Maxime Lucu is on in his place. Remember, France went with a 7-1 split on the bench, so that's their sole back replacement on the field.

Ireland are missing the big left boot of James Lowe, but Jamie Osborne is doing a decent job so far.

We're having a break for some treatment on Dupont, who has an ice pack on his knee.

France are looking very menacing with the ball in hand. They've got their try and are keeping Ireland in their own 22.

France are right in the Irish 22 again.

There's a bit of magic from Dupont with a reverse pass, but he then overthrows his next pass as he looks to spread it wide.

Ireland will have the throw on the edge of their own 22.

Peter O'Mahony claims it and Gibson-Park sends it into touch with a neat clearing kick.

As things stand, France and Ireland would be tied a the top of the table on 15 points.

A long way to go yet, however.

    France are on one now.

They're flying forward like fighter jets and it ends with a kick into the 22.

Big pressure on the Irish throw.
