It was a much-depleted England squad which arrived in Argentina at the beginning of July, but despite their Lions absentees, Steve Borthwick's side completed a 2-0 series win.

After completing a comfortable 35-12 win in the first Test, England needed a 79th minute try from Jack van Poortvliet to seal the series, edging Argentina 22-17.

England's meeting with USA is their final Test of the summer and they will be determined to head home with three wins from three.

Should they beat USA, they would extend their unbeaten run to seven matches,

For USA, this is just their third outing of 2025. The Eagles beat Belgium 36-17 on 6 July before losing 31-20 to Spain a week later.

This is their final match before the 2025 Pacific Nations Cup (23 August-20 September). Scott Lawrence's side have been drawn in Pool B alongside Canada and Japan.

Surely Gabriel Ibitoye is worth a run.

I’d be excited to see Arundell back in the England team, I don’t think he’s knocking on the door, more like ringing the doorbell just to remind everyone

Despite a poor season for Exeter, they've a few players that could be contenders - Greg Fisilau, Rus Tuima and Paul Brown-Bampoe.

Full-back Joe Carpenter says he wants to follow the example of Sale team-mate Tom Roebuck in claiming a regular England spot when he makes his Test debut against the United States on Saturday.

Carpenter toured Japan and New Zealand last summer with England, without winning a cap, and was left out of Steve Borthwick's autumn and Six Nations selections.

He is one of three uncapped players in England's XV, alongside Gloucester's Arthur Clark and Bath's Max Ojomoh.
