    England finished sixth at the 2025 U20 World Championship after losing to Australia 68-40 in the fifth-place play-off.

    England had beaten Australia 36-33 in the pool stage but couldn't end their tournament with a win.

    Australia raced into a 21-0 lead before Kepu Tuipulotu crashed over the tryline to get England on the board.

    Campbell Ridl and Sam Williams also went over for England but Australia headed into half-time with a 35-21 lead.

    Vilikesa Sela, Will Knight, and Reggie Hammick were England's try-scorers in the second half.

    While we wait, why not take an opportunity to look back on what happened in Australia earlier today...

    The British and Irish Lions beat the Wallabies 27-19 in the opening Test at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.

    Tries from Sione Tuipulotu, Tom Curry, and Dan Sheehan gave the Lions a 24-5 lead early in the second half.

    However, the Lions then lost their way to allow Australia to close the gap to 12 points heading into the final 10 minutes and set up a nervy finish.

    Steve Borthwick has rung the changes for England's final Test of the summer, with only George Ford, Luke Northmore, and Alex Coles retained from the XV which started the second Test against Argentina.

    Immanuel Feyi-Waboso returns after missing the two Argentina Tests through suspension while Jack van Poortvliet starts at scrum-half after coming off the bench to score the match-winning try against Argentina last Saturday.

    There are debuts for Arthur Clark, Joe Carpenter, and Max Ojomoh while Gabriel Oghre, Charlie Atkinson, and Oscar Beard could earn their first caps off the bench.

    England XV: Carpenter; Feyi-Waboso, Northmore, Ojomoh, Murley; Ford (c), Van Poortvliet; Rood, Langdon, Opoku-Fordjour, Coles, Clark, Cunningham-South, Pepper, Dombrant.
