George Horne is so underrated internationally: his reading of the game and support play is brilliant. Made the VDM try taking a big hit and knew where to be to make the support run for his try there.

What purpose does this match serve other than to fill the coffers of the SRU?

    George Horne

The floodgates have opened at Murrayfield.

Scotland go wide to Kyle Steyn as huge pockets of space open up against a tiring Tonga side.

He in turn finds Kyle Rowe, who puts George Horne away to score.

Another successful conversion for Fergus Burke.

This is all about George Horne.

  9. Sin-bin Fine Inisi (Tonga)published at 15:09 GMT

A fourth yellow card of the game for Tonga as Fine Inisi is sent to the sin bin for a deliberate knock-on.

I think it's right to make changes.

The game has lost its momentum and a wee bit of its spark.

Marshall Sykes, Stafford McDowall and George Horne are all on for Scotland as Gregor Townsend looks to his bench for an injection of energy.

    Scotland 21-0 Tonga

Tonga have had 14 players for the vast majority of this contest.

Scotland have only scored three tries and have lacked any sort of cohesion since half-time.

Last weekend was bad, this hasn't been much better.

  13. Postpublished at 54 mins

    Scotland 21-0 Tonga

This has all been quite underwhelming from Scotland.

The lineout came to nothing and replacement hooker Ewan Ashman then knocks on.

Scotland flatter to deceive. They play tier 2/3 nations, win, and think they are unbeatable. Play a tier nation and cannot protect a 21-point advantage. Play more tier 1 nations and get battle hardened.

    David

Another meaningless win against a tier 2/3 team to bolster Gregor Townsend’s seemingly incredible win ratio - unless you look at it against tier 1 when it matters, and it’s miserable. Roll on another inconsistent and deflating 6N that “we can take lessons from” from which SRU will probably give GT a contract extension.

Turns out Craig (14:19 GMT) was getting his musical acts confused...

Craig, I think that was Joni Mitchell rather than Janet Jackson.

Tonga have started this second half pretty well.

Inside centre Solomone Kata runs over the top of a would-be tackler before the visitors drop a kick in behind.
