I think Scotland need to desperately deepen their player pool and this is the only way they can do it.

They're not going to do it in the Autumn because they need to win all the home games.

They're certainly not going to do it in the Six Nations because that is a brutally tough environment.

    I think it's been a worthwhile tour.

Scotland captain Rory Darge has been talking post-match:

"I think it was a great game, Uruguay were a tough side to play against.

"They made it tough for us at the breakdown which made our attack struggle to flow. We're delighted to have ground it out in the end in a fairly ugly fashion.

"It was pretty close at half-time but the bench came on and made a huge difference."

I thought Uruguay were great in attack and defence. The little bit of attack they had caused Scotland some problems at times.

The frustrating thing as a Scotland fan is that when it was good it was really good and it looked pretty easy but the flip side was how scrappy it was.

It's a long season for these boys, 17 test matches in a season is a long slog.

The competitive nature of this game probably silences any critics who were calling the tour into question. France and Scotland have graced the region in recent weeks.

Will England, Ireland and Wales follow suit in the coming years?

Well done to Uruguay, they were terrific. They kept themselves in it until the end. Had they had a semi-competent goal kicker it would have been a closer game, they left eight points out there.

It was a battle for Scotland. They won four from four which you would've expected.

Things were looking bleak after last week but Uruguay have put in a performance to be proud of and given Scotland their toughest test of the tour by a distance.

South American rugby has enjoyed more attention in recent weeks than ever before and they finally have a performance on the pitch to match the excitement off it.

Ewan Johnson strips the ball back superbly, and Scotland look to run it themselves.

Duhan van der Merwe smashes through a couple of tackles, but the ball goes to ground and that is that.

Scotland make it four wins from four on their summer tour but they were made to work for it by Los Teros.

They've got that wrong. When the ball leaves the passer's hands, Huw Jones is still in a position to catch the ball.

    It's not crossing for me.

    But it's chalked off.

The officials spot a bit of crossing from Huw Jones, and duly award Uruguay a penalty.

    The hosts are running it...

Back-to-back tries for Scotland and some much-needed breathing space.

They have struggled to keep possession today, but they go through the phases, stretch the home defence, and Pierre Schoeman barges his way over from close range.

Really smart play. It doesn't matter if you think Scotland should be winning this game by 30 or 40 points, the fact is they're in an absolute dogfight with 15 minutes to go.

Really impressive, smart play from Scotland.

    Scotland hit back immediately.

Patrick Harrison is on for his second Scotland cap, and he directs a powerful rolling maul over the line for Scotland's fourth try of the game.

The Peebles man did well to find Max Williamson with his first lineout throw initially and will be delighted with his first international try.

Ben Healy then kicks a wonderful conversion to give Scotland a seven-point lead.

The whole continent is willing Uruguay on out there.
