Etcheverry's two missed kicks could be huge if this game remains close. Uruguay are starting to believe out there but they need to be more clinical.

Scotland at the minute are just standing there waiting for a decision from the referee. They're not being maybe as urgent as they should at this stage.

Uruguay have been playing well and forcing mistakes from Scotland.

  6. Missed penaltypublished at 53 mins

    Uruguay 14-19 Scotland

This isn't one Felipe Etcheverry will want to see back.

From slap bang in front, the home fly-half drags his kick to the left and sees it bounce clear off the post.

There's just absolutely no rhythm to this game.

Scotland can't get anything going in attack. Jamie Dobie is on at scrum-half - can he provide a spark?

Scotland need to look at how to unlock that Uruguay defence a little bit better inside that 22 as they have defended well other than that first maul.

Scotland are playing against a team that have spent 10 minutes of that game down to 14 men. Uruguay missed an easy kick at goal and have managed to score 14 points.

Scotland will up it in the second half because they need to. They're error strewn at the moment and it's a pretty lousy performance but a good one for Uruguay.

Uruguay deserve huge credit for dragging themselves back into this game. After Scotland's third try, it would have been very easy for their heads to drop after last week.

Head coach Rodolfo Ambrosio wanted them to show character this week and they're delivering it in spades.

Gregor Townsend will be deeply frustrated by the last 15 minutes or so.

Scotland have let Uruguay back into the contest with those two tries, and find themselves in a real contest in Montevideo.

The hosts head into the half-time break with a spring in their step.

The frustrating thing for Scotland is that all of Uruguay's opportunities have come from Scotland errors.

When it comes off for Scotland, it is great but the difference is they need to start picking the options available in front of them and not just what they've gone through in training.

Huw Jones has become known for line-breaking runs for the entirety of his Scotland career and the centre scythes through here.

He should really release George Horne to score under the posts, but he's tackled as he goes to pass and the ball goes to ground.

    A big chance goes begging.
