I thought the subs made a massive impact, with a lot of energy and Ireland will be pleased. Still plenty to work on but a good win.

Ireland captain Caelan Dories, speaking to TNT Sports: "There's relief, but there's also enjoyment there too. It's a quality side, they are Joe Schmidt-coached and we knew it was going to be top class. Their attack was right up there and it was a test for our defence. It was back and forth throughout and we're delighted with the outcome.

On the Australian lead: "It felt like we dominated possession and territory, but there as quite a lot of inaccuracy in their 22 and half. We turned it around and it was better in the second half.

On Andy Farrell's half-time message: "[He said] that there was a lot more in us. It was our inaccuracy and not getting back to neutral after mistakes. You could see some of us were carrying mistakes with us. We spoke about leaving the first half in the past and moving on. It was better in the second half.
