Ireland have controlled territory but there has been lots of inaccuracy. They have played quite well it has just been that final pass. A little bit disappointing but lots of pressure on the Australia side.

The half-time stats won't make pleasant reading for Ireland.

Namely, 66% territory turned into just five points when set against 16 handling errors and 12 turnovers.

Australia full value for their lead and a big improvement needed by Farrell's side to turn this one around.

One try apiece in the first half, but the boot of Noah Lolesi has been the difference for the Wallabies.

Ireland have had opportunities but they haven't been able to execute. It has been unforced errors, on a different day we could be closer and you expect Ireland to come out with more in the second half. The positives are the try from Josh van der Flier and Prendergast, who has looked really slick.

Ireland are making good ground with the clock in the red.

They're just outside the 22....but James Lowe is bundled into touch.

    That will be that.

I have to say that Andrea Piardi has been impressive with the whistle today. He's been decisive and clear.

All three incidents could have been given as cards by other officials, but the Italian referee is trying to keep things flowing as much as he can.

    The TMO is busy.

We're going to have a look at Finlay Bealham clattering into Max Jorgensen after the wing sent a kick clear.

It's been awarded as a penalty, but where the ball landed. So Australia have made some good ground.

Ireland have sailed well into double-digits for handling errors in this half.

Much like against the All Blacks to start the month, it feels like they've been their own worst enemies.

Take nothing away from the Wallabies, though. They've come on leaps and bounds across the year.

It's another sloppy line out and Harry Wilson almost gets in, but the big number eight scuffs his kick and it's straight into green hands.

    The line-out falters once more.

It was a great platform but the execution was lacking.

Australia have it inside their own 22, but you have to say that's another chance wasted.

Huge from Tadhg Beirne, who steals the ball at the breakdown.

He finds James Ryan, who wins the penalty at the following ruck.

Sam Prendergast sends a superb kick right into the corner.

I think Joe Schmidt will be happy given the amount of territory Ireland have had and the amount of clean exits Australia have had to do time and time again. It is really small margins and Australia have been brave and caused Ireland headaches at key moments there hasn't been too much between the teams.

Sam Prendergast sticks it high into the Dublin sky and Hugo Keenan does really well to pluck it out of the air.

However, in the story of the match, it rolls forward and Australia have the scrum.

No mistake. Australia extend their lead.

Taniela Tupou with the intercept! The big prop thinks he is clear 50 metres out, but, despite his best efforts, he was never winning that foot race against Gibson-Park.

That would have been one of the all-time great tries if he had managed to make that one.

A penalty for an infringement at the ruck is a decent consolation for Australia. Lolesio points to the posts.

Ireland against Australia is always tight, the two sides have been feeling each other out, you think Australia with their busy autumn will have an impact.
