Ryan Glendenning: So happy for Shaun! What a week it's been for him. My favourite player winning The Masters 2025 ten years after his last one.

Ben Gosling: Excellent. What a brilliant week of snooker. The right man won. Best I've seen Shaun play in YEARS! Amazing! Gonna be a handful at the World Champs if he carries on like this!

Alan Meades: Concentration on the table has been top notch all week! And that cue ball has been on a piece of string.

For me, he's looked like a winner. He's looked like he's there to win.

Sometimes, as I've said, he looks like he's there to entertain more than to win - but you win first, your job is to win the trophy, be nasty about it and be totally cold and focused.

That's how he's looked and that's what has impressed me, he's not taken that gaze, even when he's been in his chair, off the table.

His cue ball control has stood out - it was immaculate.

Shaun should be really proud himself and it's also great for Peter Ebdon, because he's been such a stalwart in the game and I think he's enjoying the challenge of being a top coach.

Shaun was the number one player this week by a long way and he's entertained the crowd so well.

  7. 'It's been an incredible week'published at 22:53 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January

More from Masters champion Shaun Murphy on BBC Two:

"I must pay tribute to Kyren because I know how it feels to lose in this match and he conducts himself so brilliantly, so professionally, he's a great world champion and he carries that weight and mantle so well.

"I wasn't surprised when he made a run halfway through the match, that's what world champions do, it's not in his DNA to roll over, he really took it to me and there was a stage a few frames ago where it was panic stations so all credit to Kyren.

"This is right up there, the win here in 2015 was big to cement my Triple Crown set and join that club but this win is as big if not arguably bigger. The 147 yesterday was one of the biggest moments of my entire life as a snooker player. It's been an incredible week.

"I was having a decent season until we came here this week - just without any silverware. I still haven't got any silverware but I've got a nice piece of crystal!"

Masters champion Shaun Murphy on BBC Two:

"I can't believe it, I'm in shock - if I'm totally honest I thought these days were gone.

"When I lost to Mark Selby in 2021 [in the World final] at the Crucible, I thought my days in the business end of these events had gone.

"But I've teamed up with Peter Ebdon, he's helped me rediscover that self-belief, he's helped remind me I used to be quite good at this.

"And there's still a bit of life in the old dog yet."

  9. 'I'm a lucky lad win or lose'published at 22:48 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January

    Result: Wilson 7-10 Murphy

More from Kyren Wilson on his form since winning the world title:

"I'm 33, coming into my prime and I'm having an amazing season.

"Being runner-up is obviously not what I want to be, but we've got Berlin next week so I'll go and smash it in Germany.

"I've got such a great family unit, so many friends and family that have come down to support me. I'm a lucky lad, win or lose.

"What an amazing venue, every credit to World Snooker and the sponsors. The crowd have been amazing all week."

  10. 'Fought as hard as I could'published at 22:42 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January

    Result: Wilson 7-10 Murphy

Masters runner-up Kyren Wilson, speaking to BBC Two:

"I just made it too easy for Shaun today, I threw him in the balls too many times and you can't do that with how well Shaun's been playing this week.

"I proved why I'm the world champion, I fought as hard as I could. From 8-4 down, a lot of people would have written me off and if the red goes in at 8-7, that could have been my clearance for 8-8 and you might be looking at the different scoreline.

"But every credit to Shaun - well done to Shaun."

    Breaking

    Shaun Murphy wins the Masters

Ten years after his first Masters victory in 2015, Shaun Murphy wins the tournament for a second time.

He's had a week to remember - he made a 147 maximum break in his semi-final win over Mark Allen, and today has beaten world champion Kyren Wilson to secure the title.

He wins the Paul Hunter Trophy and a £350,000 first prize, finishing off with a fabulous 100 break.

And a fist-pump afterwards. Shaun Murphy knows he's done it. He's held off the Kyren Wilson fightback.

Brilliant break in this frame to clinch the title. Can he clear up to finish in style?

Every point is a pint of blood for Shaun Murphy at the minute.

But he plays a fabulous shot off the blue to free a red - now, off the next blue, he goes into the pack and has a choice of two.

Big chance now with a 40-point lead...

  20. Wilson's luck runs outpublished at 22:30 Greenwich Mean Time 19 January

    Wilson 7-9 Murphy

    There's always a gap.

Kyren Wilson plays away off a touching ball but leaves the aforementioned red on, in the narrowest of gaps between green and blue.

It would have been safe anywhere else in that area of the table - except the exact spot it landed.
