Kyren Wilson produced a scintillating display of potting as he swept into a 7-1 lead over Jak Jones in the final of the World Championship.

The Englishman got under way in fine style by compiling the first century break in the opening frame of a Crucible final since Stephen Hendry made 136 against Jimmy White in 1993.

His 129 clearance set the tone as Wilson took complete control with further breaks of 52, 66, 62, 90 and another century.

Welsh qualifier Jones, who is playing in his first ever ranking final, understandably struggled to settle but raised his fist in joy after knocking in a 65 break on the way to taking the final frame of the session.

Jak got a lot of love from the crowd at the end there and he deserves it.

He has really lit up this World Championship and we are all heartbroken that he hasn't really showed anything in the final.

But that last frame was fantastic.

Nice moment at the end of the session as Kyren Wilson tries to get the referee to move a red out of the way of the black, then concedes shortly after.

Jak Jones finally on the board - but it's been a dominant session from world number 12 Wilson who will be delighted with his afternoon's work.

The break ends at 65, leaving Kyren Wilson requiring three snookers but he's going to play on.

He's shown a lot of character here, Jak Jones - he's shown the attitude that's got him to this final during this break.

Jak Jones looks extremely focussed. He knows how important it is to prevent a shut-out in this opening session of the final.
