Taylor Fritz races through his latest service game with minimal fuss and stares back down the other end of the court after putting away the smash.

Alexander Zverev grumbles on towards his box. There hasn't been any of the aggro between the two camps we billed earlier.

This lull is one of those periods people who push for sets being first to four want to eradicate.

WHAT A SHOT!

Alexander Zverev curls one in from an inch off the ground while running across the back court. That seemed to defy physics.

The German fourth seeds stands there like Jude Bellingham - arms wide - to take the applause afterwards.

Taylor Fritz needs to just keep his focus and level of intensity up at the start of this second set.

He cannot afford any kind of unforced errors or level drops.

The crowd is in a lull at the start of this second set. They're quiet as Alexander Zverev bangs down a game-clinching ace.

Taylor Fritz may not have landed as many of his first serves as his opponent but when he got them in he was superb. He won 88% of such points up to and including that tie-break.

Zverev threatens in this latest game but Fritz is still yet to face a break point.

It's never easy to pick yourself up after losing a tie-break.

Alexander Zverev has to stamp his authority straight away and show Taylor Fritz that he is there fighting psychologically.

We're told Alexander Zverev's grumbles are because of his racquets. He's already swapped a couple of times at least.

For a moment his disappointment at losing the first set looks set to bubble over into the second but he corrects his course to take the opening game.

It was an absolutely brilliant set.

Taylor Fritz raised his game and played those bigger points better.

After 55 minutes Taylor Fritz takes the first set!

He has to work for his first set point, Alexander Zverev chasing down two of his smashes but finally he breaks through the defence with a third.

The crowd cheer their man as he waves his racquet in celebration.

Now it's Fritz's turn to find the lines. He leads the tie-break for the first time now after two quick points.

Alexander Zverev is serving his way out of trouble with great accuracy.
