  1. Draper holdspublished at 18:03 British Summer Time 1 July

    Draper 2-0 Baez*

A comfortable service hold for Jack Draper and the early signs are looking good for the Briton against Sebastian Baez, who hasn't played a grass-court match this year and has won only three of his 10 previous tour-level matches on the surface.

  2. Pinnington Jones holdspublished at 18:02 British Summer Time 1 July

    *Etcheverry 2-2 Pinnington Jones

Jack Pinnington Jones wins an exchange at the net to hold.

A difficult service game but one to take confidence from with a couple of break points saved.

  3. 'Impressed with Draper's movement'published at 18:01 British Summer Time 1 July

    *Draper 1-0 Baez

    John McEnroe
Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

I'm most impressed with how Jack Draper is moving in the last year or so and how much of a factor that is in his rise to number four in the world.

  4. Third deucepublished at 18:00 British Summer Time 1 July

    Etcheverry 2-1 Pinnington Jones*

Jack Pinnington Jones saves both break points and gets to deuce with an ace.

Maybe he is starting to settle down.

Tomas Martin Etcheverry slams a forehand down the line to get to third deuce.

  5. Draper breaks in first gamepublished at 17:59 British Summer Time 1 July

    *Draper 1-0 Baez

Sebastian Baez goes long with a forehand and then nets - Jack Draper breaks in the first game of the match.

The perfect start for the Brit.

  6. Zverev holdspublished at 17:58 British Summer Time 1 July

    Zverev 6-7 (3-7) 7-6 (10-8) 3-6 6-6 Rinderknech

As you would expect, Alexander Zverev rises to the challenge and sees out his service game comfortably.

Arthur Rinderknech is not leaving anything to chance on Centre Court at the minute, he is absolutely drilling his shots down the line.

You get a feeling he will fancy his chances in this fourth set tie-break.

  7. Break points Etcheverrypublished at 17:58 British Summer Time 1 July

    Etcheverry 2-1 Pinnington Jones*

Jack Pinnington Jones is struggling to impose himself on serve and has two break points to save.

  8. Deuce in opening gamepublished at 17:57 British Summer Time 1 July

    Draper 0-0 Baez*

Jack Draper, his cap back to front on his head, gets 15-30 in front thanks to a couple of unforced errors from Sebastian Baez.

The British lefty is off target with a couple of groundstrokes, but then fires a forehand down the line to bring up deuce.

  9. 'Draper could win a major for the first time'published at 17:56 British Summer Time 1 July

    Draper v Baez

    John McEnroe
Three-time Wimbledon singles champion on BBC TV

Jack Draper is the fourth favourite to win this tournament.

He has got himself incredibly fit. This is a good first-round opponent to play and he will hope to get off the court quickly.

He could win a major for the first time in his life, this is about dealing with the nerves. That's pressure but it's also a pretty cool feeling.

  10. Zverev serving to stay in the matchpublished at 17:54 British Summer Time 1 July

    *Zverev 6-7 (3-7) 7-6 (10-8) 3-6 5-6 Rinderknech

Alexander Zverev won't make things that easy though, he takes a service hold to love to level things up in this fourth set once more.

Arthur Rinderknech continues his service dominance though, holding onto his service game as well, so the German will have to serve to stay in this first round match.

    Over to the third seed...

  11. Etcheverry holdspublished at 17:53 British Summer Time 1 July

    Etcheverry 2-1 Pinnington Jones*

Jack Pinnington Jones falls awkwardly deep beyond the baseline with one foot just slipping away on the turf. He looks in discomfort on the floor but gives a thumbs up and walks it off.

Tomas Martin Etcheverry gets another hold to love.

He [Draper] came here last year having just won his first ATP title at Stuttgart and beating [Carlos] Alcaraz at Queen's - there was a lot of interest 12 months ago but it was Andy Murray's farewell.

Now he is the outstanding British singles player in the draw. He is going to have to get used to it. He needs to be as professional as he can and not get sucked into the atmosphere.

  14. Pinnington Jones holdspublished at 17:52 British Summer Time 1 July

    *Etcheverry 1-1 Pinnington Jones

Jack Pinnington Jones is up and running.

    A nicely-placed forehand seals a hard-earned hold.

  15. Deucepublished at 17:50 British Summer Time 1 July

    Etcheverry 1-0 Pinnington Jones*

Time to see what Jack Pinnington Jones has to offer on debut in the Wimbledon main draw.

He looks a little nervy with a wayward first serve and then a let before getting his first point at a Grand Slam. 15-0.

It seems there are a fair few Pinnington Jones supporters on court 17 with big cheers when he leads 40-30. It's a little quieter when Tomas Martin Etcheverry gets to deuce.

  16. The tale of the tapepublished at 17:49 British Summer Time 1 July

    Draper v Baez

Sebastian Baez of Argentina is Jack Draper's first-round opponent.

Baez, ranked 38th in the world and aged 24, is a year older and nine inches shorter than fourth seed Draper.

Draper leads the head-to-head between the pair 2-0, with the Briton winning all of the four sets they have previously played.

  17. Rinderknech holdspublished at 17:47 British Summer Time 1 July

    *Zverev 6-7 (3-7) 7-6 (10-8) 3-6 4-5 Rinderknech

Another comfortable service hold for Arthur Rinderknech, finished off at 40-15 with a smashed volley down the line.

His bullet serves are still proving too much for Alexander Zverev on the receiving end.

He looks over to his coaching team and gives a gentle shake of the racquet. He knows victory is within touching distance now.

  18. Postpublished at 17:47 British Summer Time 1 July

    Draper v Baez

Out onto Court One walks Jack Draper, who begins his Wimbledon campaign with the weight of a nation on his shoulders.

The British number one has never made it past round two at SW19 before, but he enters the fray this year a far superior prospect to the one who lost in straight sets to fellow Briton Cameron Norrie a year ago.

Since then, Draper has reached a US Open semi-final and won the prestigious Indian Wells title to move up to fourth in the world rankings.

An exchange of comfortable service games brings us to the end game on Centre Court.

Arthur Rinderknech can see the finish line, and a first ever victory over a top-five player.

Can he find a way through Alexander Zverev's serve?

  20. Etcheverry holdspublished at 17:45 British Summer Time 1 July

    Etcheverry 1-0 Pinnington Jones*

Tomas Martin Etcheverry already looks very menacing with his first serve.

The 25-year-old sets the tone with a swift hold to love.
