Katie Boulter has found some confidence and has grown into this match. For the first time, Tatjana Maria is looking a bit wobbly as the Brit brings up three break points on the German's serve.

Remember, a win here for Katie Boulter would mean Great Britain win the overall tie but the doubles match will still be played.

The outcome of that wouldn't matter right now but could come into play at a later date.

Boulter had the chance to get things done and she did. She has been making changes to her game step by step and she is getting the rewards.

It wasn't easy at times but she kept making improvements. It took her a little while to get her strikes going but she managed to get Maria on the defence.

Maria is trying to maintain her quality but she is perhaps feeling the pressure a little bit more now as Boulter is getting some better strikes in.

Boulter is bringing the heat now, talk about turning things around. She finally has that lead that she has been so desperately wanting.

Boulter is looking really good up inside the court. Her net play has been excellent all-round whereas Maria is opting for pace rather than placement.

There are all sorts of shots that just become that much more difficult on this surface.

Boulter's beautiful charge through the volley secures her the game. She just about has her nose in front although it is very tight.

On the whole, the drop shot has been unsuccessful for Boulter - I don't understand why she is going for it.

The double fault from Maria just allowed Boulter back into the game and she got her reward with a little bit of lift and shape.

Maria always seems to have a way of getting a drop shot past Boulter. Even when the ball goes over the forehand side, it always seems out of reach for Boulter.

Maria is making her uncomfortable and is looking to press ahead now in this set, but Boulter looks determined.

Maria has such control over those forehand shots which is causing Boulter issues. She has such power.

Boulter has looked good with the volley, she deals with it very nicely but Maria is setting herself up well for points.

Maria is yet to face a break point and she avoids it once again. She deals nicely with the pressure.
