    Boulter is not trying to go for too much but it is patient play from Maria as they begin to play slightly longer rallies.

    Boulter wants to lean forward on the ball and get some pressure on it before she hits it, but she has had very little opportunity to do that whatsoever.

    For team Germany, it is just more of the same. Their strategy is working perfectly.

    Boulter is still just looking for a little bit of smoothness. Even when she gets close to the net, Maria is so capable of finding the angles to get the ball past her.

    Maria is troubling the Boulter game and not giving her the strike she wants. She is a tough opponent to be up against. What you want is rhythm and Tatjana Maria gives you none of that.

    Boulter is starting to get hold of that slice. It does take some getting used to, but now she is off and running.

    She played her best game so far in that fourth game but Maria is always able to come up with a tricky shot to respond.

    There are certainly signs of progress for Boulter but Maria is holding firm.

    Sonay Kartal has been speaking to BBC Sport after her win over Niemeier, saying: “It was a super proud moment for me, and the team on the sidelines - I couldn’t pick a better bunch of girls to do it with.

    But her game was in better shape than her voice - which is suffering because of too much shouting during games’ nights.

    Kartal says Jenga - a version that is “twice her height” - has become particularly competitive.

    The slice from Maria has been working well so far and is causing Boulter all sorts of problems. The ball is spinning in the opposite direction to what you want and wants to go down off your strings.

    It's a great start from Maria, she knows she can get under Boulter's skin. Boulter needs some games on the board to start ramping up the pressure.
