Still a long way to go, of course, but a shock is brewing on Court Two.

Former world number one Daniil Medvedev, who has reached the semi-finals in each of the past two years, loses a first-set tie-break to France’s Benjamin Bonzi.

Ninth seed Medvedev grumbles about something as he wanders back to his chair - you can imagine the scene - before drying himself with a towel and then heading off court.

Presumably for a sharp splash of cold water around his chops.

  2. Kartal holdspublished at 12:16 British Summer Time 30 June

    Kartal 7-5 1-3 Ostapenko*

And just like the opening set, Sonay Kartal gets on the board in the fourth game.

A pretty emphatic hold to love suggests Kartal is back in business.

    *Kartal 7-5 0-3 Ostapenko

A feeling of Deja vu in this second set for Sonay Kartal as she falls to 3-0 again.

She shakes her head and mutters under her breath as she heads to her chair at the change of ends.

It's going pretty well for the Britons currently in action with Sonay Kartal, Oliver Tarvet and Oliver Crawford are all one set up.

Kartal is live on BBC Two but you can also watch Tarvet and Crawford if you select the 'watch & listen' tab at the top of this page.

  5. Tarvet breaks early in second setpublished at 12:12 British Summer Time 30 June

    Tarvet 6-4 3-1 Riedi*

    Gary Rose

British qualifier Oliver Tarvet is right in his groove now, while his opponent Leandro Riedi is becoming increasingly frustrated.

A second break in his last five games followed by a hold gives Tarvet the advantage in set two.

More and more people have popped up on the edges of Court 4 as they can sense a good underdog story developing here.

  6. Ostapenko holdspublished at 12:12 British Summer Time 30 June

    *Kartal 7-5 0-3 Ostapenko

Now it's the wind that is getting on the wrong side of Jelena Ostapenko. She stops mid-serve to let it die down and it proves to be the right call.

Ostapenko volleys a winner at the net to hold and consolidate that early break.

  7. Ostapenko breakspublished at 12:10 British Summer Time 30 June

    Ah.

    Sonay Kartal is broken.

    Not the start she wanted.

  8. Break points Ostapenkopublished at 12:09 British Summer Time 30 June

    *Kartal 7-5 0-1 Ostapenko

This is feeling reminiscent of the opening set.

Sonay Kartal has made a slow start has two break points to defend.

  9. Game and first set - GB's Crawfordpublished at 12:08 British Summer Time 30 June

    *Bellucci 6-7 (2-7) 0-0 Crawford

Just the start he would have wanted.

Oliver Crawford brings up four set points and Mattia Bellucci hits a backhand into the net, allowing the Brit to seal the opening set at the first attempt.

No aces from Crawford in the opening set compared to seven for Bellucci but that won't trouble him at this stage.

    *Kartal 7-5 0-1 Ostapenko

    Jess Anderson
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

Jelena Ostapenko is getting increasingly frustrated and has at times complained about noise from the crowd.

The umpire has told them to be quiet a few times but as the wheels appear to come off for the Latvian 20th seed she turns to a group of fans to her left and shouts ‘guys!’ to tell them to be quiet.

She turns to the umpire in exasperation then turns back to the fans and waves her arms in the air to get their attention and tell them to be quiet.

    Eek.

  11. GB's Crawford leads in tie-breakpublished at 12:06 British Summer Time 30 June

    *Bellucci 6-6 (2-4) Crawford

Oliver Crawford leads in the tie-break, coming to the net to cleverly sweep the ball past Matteo Bellucci.

Bellucci then fires an ace long before hitting a forehand into the net and he sighs in frustration.

  12. Ostapenko holdspublished at 12:06 British Summer Time 30 June

    *Kartal 7-5 0-1 Ostapenko

Jelena Ostapenko started to show signs of frustration as the opening set swung in Sonay Kartal's favour and the Latvian hasn't completely shaken that feeling yet.

It looks like Ostapenko is annoyed with someone in the crowd as halts her service routine and waves her arms in their direction.

Ostapenko starts the set with a hold.

  13. Jabeur feeling the heatpublished at 12:03 British Summer Time 30 June

    Tomova 5-4 Jabeur*

    Sonia Oxley
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

Ons Jabeur was off the court for 14 minutes earlier in the set. She had looked uncomfortable early on in the match, putting an ice towel around her neck and drinking water during the first changeover.

She then called on the trainer at 3-2, burying her head in her towel while she waited for her to come on. Jabeur sat in her chair and had her blood pressure take before following the physio off the court.

She still does not look happy, seemingly focusing on her breathing, but is carrying on against a backdrop of people waving fans and sitting under umbrellas.

There's no shade on this court - court 14 is a small outside court. Neither player is rushing off their seats to start playing again at the end of the changeover.

There’s a chap in the crowd on court 3 who has clearly forgotten to bring a hat and is instead improvising with a canvas bag draped over his head.

    Needs must, I guess.

What a set of tennis that was from Sonay Kartal, too. Great comeback to take the opener.

  16. Game and first set - Kartalpublished at 12:01 British Summer Time 30 June

    Kartal 7-5 Ostapenko*

Jelena Ostapenko puts into the net and Sonay Kartal takes the set.

    Remarkable stuff from the 23-year-old.

    *Bellucci 6-6 (0-0) Crawford

Brit Oliver Crawford looked to be in control of the opening set but Mattia Bellucci roars back to hold in his service game and force a tie-break to decide the first set.

A big fist pump from the Italian as his forehand just make the line.

What a run that is from Sonay Kartal to win four games in a row and take the lead for the first time in this set.

    Can she serve it out?

  20. Game and first set - GB’s Tarvetpublished at 11:58 British Summer Time 30 June

    Tarvet 6-4 Riedi*

    Gary Rose
    BBC Sport at Wimbledon

A dream Wimbledon debut so far for British qualifier Oliver Tarvet as he takes the first set.

The 21-year-old got the crucial break in the ninth game before holding on his serve.

Progress to the next round for the youngster would be amazing but tinged with some frustration. He can only claim around £7,300 prize money because of having to maintain his amateur status as a university athlete. Reaching the main draw of Wimbledon alone is worth £66,000.
