  1. Raducanu into round twopublished at 18:58 British Summer Time 30 June

    Raducanu 6-3 6-3 Xu

Emma Raducanu says she's "super happy" to come through her first-round match against fellow British player Mimi Xu and how she won the important points at important moments. Full quotes to come from the former US Open winner.

Next up for Raducanu is Marketa Vondrousova, the 2023 Wimbledon champion.

Former British number one on BBC Two

This was always going to be a big challenge and a big ask of Mimi Xu. I'm sure her coach Nigel Sears will be very proud of her performance out here.

  3. Boulter holdspublished at 18:55 British Summer Time 30 June

    *Badosa 1-3 Boulter

A break is never really a break until it is consolidated and that is exactly what Katie Boulter does.

A much more comfortable hold of serve this time for the Brit as she takes the game for the loss of just one point.

    Boulter looking comfortable out there.

    Breaking

    Raducanu 6-3 6-3 Xu

Emma Raducanu recovers from 0-30 down to bring up match point... and an unreturnable serve gets it done.

    Raducanu through to round two.

Some good moments, some inconsistency at times, but it's all about getting the W.

A word too for Mimi Xu, who performed pretty well on her Grand Slam debut and she gets a great reception from the crowd on Court One. I'm sure she'll back for more in future years.

  6. Galfi breakspublished at 18:52 British Summer Time 30 June

    Dart 6-3 3-6 5-6 Galfi*

A huge break point opportunity for Dalma Galfi and she takes it on the second serve with a crisp forehand down the line.

Harriet Dart is rather unimpressed as Galfi moves in front in the deciding set.

  7. Xu holdspublished at 18:52 British Summer Time 30 June

    *Raducanu 6-3 5-3 Xu

Whatever the outcome of this match, Mimi Xu can feel very proud of her display today on her Wimbledon debut.

She's got one more chance to stay in the tournament - Emma Raducanu is serving for a place in the second round.

  8. Boulter breakspublished at 18:51 British Summer Time 30 June

    Badosa 1-2 Boulter*

Katie Boulter gets some good pace on her forehand from deep at the back of the court to edge ahead early on Paula Badosa's serve.

The Spaniard was looking pretty comfortable at 40-15 up, but a double fault and an impressive backhand return down the line sees Boulter get to deuce.

Another double fault and it is breakpoint to the Brit... and she gets it!

Just the start Boulter would have hoped for.

  9. Galfi holds in deciding setpublished at 18:49 British Summer Time 30 June

    *Dart 6-3 3-6 5-5 Galfi

Dalma Galfi holds on her service game as the pressure intensifies.

Dart can't quite reach a fierce backhand and then hits into the net as Galfi wraps the game up pretty quickly.

Still so tough to call who will come out on top as we approach the closing stages.

  10. Around the groundspublished at 18:47 British Summer Time 30 June

American 13th seed Amanda Anisimova has picked up a 'double bagel' win against Yulia Putintseva, winning 6-0 6-0.

Italian 32nd seed Matteo Berrettini won the opening set 6-4 against Kamil Majchrzak but the Pole has just levelled after taking the second 6-2.

Emma Raducanu is not happy here as someone's phone continues to go off in the stands.

It's sort of like an alarm/siren sound. Very odd.

  12. Raducanu holds and is one game from victorypublished at 18:46 British Summer Time 30 June

    Raducanu 6-3 5-2 Xu*

A lesser spotted hold of serve in this second set - made a little bit more difficult than it needed to be having taken a 40-0 lead - takes Emma Raducanu to the brink of a spot in the second round.

Raducanu - who screams with delight when the game is secured - has never lost a first-round match and that record looks set to continue.

  13. Boulter holdspublished at 18:46 British Summer Time 30 June

    *Badosa 1-1 Boulter

That is some serious hitting from Paula Badosa.

The Spaniard gets ahead early on Katie Boulter's serve with some big groundstrokes.

Boulter looks to be struggling serving in the one patch of sun left on the court as she hits a double fault, but uses her strong forehand game to bring it back level at 30-30.

Her serve sees her through and it is a good early hold for Boulter from 0-30 down.

  14. Paolini one set down on Court Twopublished at 18:46 British Summer Time 30 June

    *Paolini 2-6 2-2 Sevastova

Things aren't going according to plan for Jasmine Paolini out on Court Two.

The fourth seed is currently one set down in her first round match against Latvia's Anastasija Sevastova.

Could there be yet another shock on the opening day? Last year's runner-up will certainly be hoping not, but she will need to turn things around quickly.

  15. Raducanu breakspublished at 18:42 British Summer Time 30 June

    *Raducanu 6-3 4-2 Xu

Make that five breaks of serve in a row between the two Brits on Court One.

A drilled forehand winner down the line confirms a break to love and gives Emma Raducanu a 4-2 lead.

  16. Dart holdspublished at 18:41 British Summer Time 30 June

    Dart 6-3 3-6 4-3 Galfi*

An important hold for Harriet Dart in the deciding set.

She plays a clever forehand which just whistles over the net and Dalma Galfi's return is narrowly wide.

Dart is edging closer but it still feels like there could be a little while to go in this match.

Both players take on fluids in the searing British heat.

  17. 'I will try to improve the things that didn't work'published at 18:41 British Summer Time 30 June

    Alcaraz 7-5 6-7 (5-7) 7-5 2-6 6-1 Fognini

Speaking about facing Great Britain's Oliver Tarvet in the second round, Carlos Alcaraz said: "The game isn't going to be personal, guys. He is playing great tennis on grass and if he is in the second round of Wimbledon then he is playing at a great level. I have to be ready and I will try to put my best tennis out for the match.

"Tomorrow, I will try to improve the things that didn't work today such as the return and the forehand. Let's keep enjoying being at Wimbledon as well."

  18. Badosa holdspublished at 18:40 British Summer Time 30 June

    Badosa 1-0 Boulter*

Paula Badosa has a big serve, but Katie Boulter is handling it well.

She puts pressure on early to get to 15-30, but the ninth seed serves her way out of trouble well.

Badosa and Boulter both looking good in the opening game.

  19. 'Wimbledon is special and different'published at 18:40 British Summer Time 30 June

    Alcaraz 7-5 6-7 (5-7) 7-5 2-6 6-1 Fognini

Two-time defending champion Carlos Alcaraz, speaking on Centre Court after his first-round win: "First of all, I don't know why it is Fabio Fognini's last Wimbledon because the level he has shown shows he can still play for three or four more years.

"I have to give him the credit for such a great match. He has shown the level and talent he has throughout his whole career and he has shown that once again today, so I'm just a bit sad that this is probably his last Wimbledon. I'm happy to have shared the court and locker room many times with him. We got to enjoy the last of him.

"Playing on Centre Court for the first match of any tournament is never easy. I've been practising pretty well and playing on grass really well, but Wimbledon is special and different. I could feel the difference between Wimbledon and the other tournaments.

"I just tried to play my best but I would say that I could play better. I have to improve in the next round. In general, I still think it was a great match."

  20. Xu breaks backpublished at 18:39 British Summer Time 30 June

    Raducanu 6-3 3-2 Xu*

Almost a fourth break of serve in a row, but Emma Raducanu is in quickly to the net to power away a volley on break point.

Hang about - a double fault from Raducanu and Mimi Xu gets another chance, but the teenager nets a forehand.

But then two superb winners from Xu and we're back on serve again!
