Right, warm-ups are done. The world number one serves first and starts with a wide one, which the umpire runs off his chair to check.

Just out, but Sabalenka soon wins the point at the net.

Hopefully for the umpire's sake he won't be off his chair too often today.

    Sabalenka vs Teichmann

Aryna Sabalenka bosses the head-to-head today. This pair have only met once, in Doha three years ago, and the Belarussian easily won 6-2 6-1.

Sabalenka is on fine form on the clay. She won the Madrid Open a few weeks back.

Jil Teichmann's rather loud outfit is the same colour as the clay. Maybe she's going for camouflage?

    • Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz overcame a blip in form to beat Fabian Marozsan.
    • However, two-time Roland Garros finalist Casper Ruud is out after losing to Portugal's Nuno Borges.
    • Last year's runner-up Jasmine Paolini cruised into the third round with a routine win against Australia's Ajla Tomljanovic.
    • Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko reached round three on her Grand Slam debut by defeating German world number 58 Eva Lys.

  9. 'This place inspires me and that makes me work harder'published at 17:09 British Summer Time 28 May

    Raducanu 1-6 2-6 Swiatek

World number five Iga Swiatek on the reason behind her 23 consecutive wins at Roland Garros: "I don't know, you guys tell me! I think it's probably the top spin that I play with. Honestly, I just love playing here. This place inspires me and that makes me work harder.

"I think having some time off before helped me a little bit for sure, so I'm just ready to fight for it and compete."

  10. 'I felt that I could do whatever I had planned to do'published at 17:06 British Summer Time 28 May

    Raducanu 1-6 2-6 Swiatek

Reigning French Open champion Iga Swiatek speaking on court about her second-round win: "I'm not focusing on that [making it look easy]. I just want to play my game. I felt good on court for sure, so I felt I could do whatever I had planned to do or whatever I wanted to do. I just had to adjust to the wind because the conditions were pretty tricky today. I'm happy that I did that well and I'm through [to the next round]."

On her routine for a day off at Roland Garros: "I practice pretty early so then I can spend the whole day kind of chilling. It's nothing special. Usually I don't go out right before the match so I just go to the park, do some Lego, read a book. I don't watch too many TV shows because then I have weird dreams!

"I have to stick to the things that calm me down. Paris is beautiful so just having a walk outside is a nice experience so that I'm not overthinking it."

A tough one to take for Emma Raducanu. Her Roland Garros journey comes to an end.

But remember, this was only her second appearance at a French Open and she was up against the very best on clay. Iga Swiatek has won four of the past five titles in Paris.

It's the players that take the game to Swiatek that she struggles against. Unfortunately Raducanu has let her dictate the points and that's the absolute worst thing you can do. A lesson today for the Brit.

That was quite a cold handshake.

There was no warmth there between the two players. It was quite dismissive, almost just a handshake and then a walk off.

Once Iga Swiatek got a breakthrough in this match, she just stamped her authority on it.

    *Raducanu 1-6 2-5 Swiatek

    Annabel Croft

There have been a few loopy forehands from Iga Swiatek this afternoon. There were a few early on but she managed to steady the ship and take control of her groundstrokes.

It has been more interesting to see how she has struggled with the higher, loopier balls. But her tactics have been more or less spot on today.

There is a lot to admire in what she has done.

    *Raducanu 1-6 2-5 Swiatek

Iga Swiatek holds her hand on her hip. She isn't too happy with that call from the line judge, which came rather late to be fair.

It doesn't matter much anyway. The second serve is just as good and Emma Raducanu misses again. 30-15.

A lucky net cord brings up two match points for the three-time defending champion.
