Iga Swiatek won't allow Emma Raducanu to enjoy that winner. She struts to the mark, arguing it's out before eventually scuffing it out.

And here's a half chance for Raducanu as the defending champion misses. 15-30.

There's not a lot Raducanu can do about this at the moment. There is just a barrage of abuse coming at her from Swiatek.

I think she is feeling very intimidated. It isn't often we see her like this out there on court, but Swiatek has managed to do it.

    Iga Swiatek is in charge.

She let a massive roar out as she leapt into that backhand and the ball arrows down the line. There was absolutely no hope for Emma Raducanu there.

Swiatek apologises for nearly hitting the Briton, but she won't be sorry about the scoreline. A first break in this second set.

Iga Swiatek is looking much more confident. Emma Raducanu is going to have to play better than she did in the first set. She has got to produce her very best now - and for most people even that's not enough against Swiatek!

Raducanu does have the ability to get on a roll though and Swiatek hasn't been her usual fluent self in 2025.

So there will be doubts beneath the surface, but you have to get to the point where those doubts creep in and the danger is that never happening.

Too good. Iga Swiatek reels off a series of winners, and then an ace.

Emma Raducanu argues that it missed the line, but the umpire clambers down from his chair and confirms the hold for Swiatek.

Emma Raducanu lost 6-0 6-1 in her last meeting with Iga Swiatek at January's Australian Open.

So this is already an improvement for the British number two.

Two big serves get Emma Raducanu up and running, but she tees up an easy return for Iga Swiatek on the next point and the Pole blasts it onto the line.

Raducanu replies with a winner of her own to go 40-15 up, and she wraps up an important hold with a cross-court return that Swiatek can only skew long.

She's on the board at least in this second set.

The way this match is being played has shifted a little bit.

It felt so tense at the start. It was nip and tuck and you could feel the tension between the two of them, but suddenly it feels like Swiatek has forged ahead.

She is starting to play with a lot more freedom which makes her even more dangerous and difficult as an opponent.

Emma Raducanu knows she'll have to do something special to beat Iga Swiatek on clay, but she's putting just a tad too much pace on some of these hits and she's missing the court as a result.

A couple of rare unforced errors from Swiatek pull us level at 30-30.

    Raducanu 1-5 Swiatek*

Emma Raducanu tries to switch up play with a slice to Iga Swiatek's baseline, but it just gives the Pole more time to set up her next few shots and she eventually ends the rally with a ruthless winner down the line.

Hard to see from this far back on Chatrier but it doesn't look like Raducanu is suffering physically like she was in her opening match.

On Monday, from close up on the tiny outside court eight, you could see the Briton was really struggling and looking light-headed.

Raducanu said she thought she'd be fine today, although she has just grabbed a banana from the bag for an energy boost.

Iga Swiatek drags Emma Raducanu to one side of the court with a powerful first serve before flinging a ferocious forehand winner into the empty court left behind.

The 2021 US Open winner pulls a point back by fizzing a forehand past Swiatek, who makes a meal of the next point. Deuce.

That is another unforced error off the backhand side for Emma Raducanu.

That's definitely the side that Swiatek is targeting a little bit more. She isn't always going to go into that backhand, because you can play somebody into form, but she is definitely sending a few more balls into that backhand side.

I think she is more fearful of the Raducanu forehand.

It goes without saying but a high first-serve percentage is key for Raducanu today.

She's not got it so far.

Raducanu's second serve was punished early in her opening match against Wang Xinyu - but she won't get away with a similar start against Swiatek.
