That's unfortunate. Emma Raducanu clips the net cord and it takes a second or two before it falls onto her side of the court.
Advantage, Iga Swiatek.

A bit subdued in Court Philippe Chatrier at the moment.
There were barely a few thousand fans here when the match started as punters popped for a baguette after Carlos Alcaraz's match.
While we've had the traditional swell after the third game, it's still about a quarter full for now.

Iga Swiatek looks confused as she peers down at her racquet. Two big mishits from the former world number one. 15-0.

I keep telling myself Emma has no chance today, but we all know what Emma is capable of 🤞

*Raducanu 1-2 Swiatek
Emma Raducanu is aggressive on Iga Swiatek's second serve, closing down the court and imposing herself, but there's too much pace on her return.
She draws level at 30-30 with a fantastic winner down the line before Swiatek crunches a backhand approach shot past the Briton.
The fifth seed watches as a Raducanu forehand goes wide to give Swiatek the hold.

Emma Raducanu has equalled as many games as she got in Australia already, so that is a good sign.
It will be very good for her to just settle the nerves and let her know that she can get the scoreboard rolling on her side.
I'm not surprised she let out a bit of a shriek there, it's always nice to feel settled.

Raducanu 1-1 Swiatek*
Emma Raducanu missed her first three first serves, but she lands an ace at the fourth time of asking.
The British number two goes for a sneaky drop shot on the next point, but it falls short at the net. I think Iga Swiatek might have got there anyway.
But Raducanu gets through her first service game unharmed. That's a very solid start to this match from the 22-year-old.

There is a little bit of tension in Iga Swiatek's forehand. I don't think it is looking that smooth at the moment.
If she starts to steamroll the scoreline, like she did in Australia, I'm sure she will start to get more confident on it.
But at the moment, I can see some tension on that side.

The wind could add an extra layer to this match.
It looks like Emma Raducanu was caught out by a breeze there as she miscues her forehand and sends it long.
Iga Swiatek takes advantage of a weaker second serve from the Briton, but she can't make it count as she goes for too much power on the forehand. 15-15.
*Raducanu 0-1 Swiatek
Unlucky. Emma Raducanu lofts her return high into the air and it only just misses the baselline when it plummets back down to earth.
Another long hit gives Iga Swiatek the hold.
An interesting first game that should do the world of good to Raducanu's confidence.
Raducanu 0-0 Swiatek*
A forehand winner brings up a game point for Iga Swiatek, but she lets her chance slip with an over-eager hit beyond the baseline. Back to deuce.

A familiar face is back in Emma Raducanu's coaching box.
Mark Petchey, who has been working with his fellow Brit on an informal basis, missed Raducanu's opening match because of his commitments as a television commentator.
Looks like the TV scheduler has done him a solid today.
Petchey has been given a break from the booth so he can guide Raducanu through this match.
Wearing his smartest garb, he's sat alongside Jane O'Donoghue and Tom Welsh who are also part of Raducanu's coaching team here.
Raducanu 0-0 Swiatek*
A blistering serve from Iga Swiatek sets her up well to send the ball back into an empty court and save the break point. Deuce.
Raducanu 0-0 Swiatek*
What can Emma Raducanu do here? She's got an early break point after Iga Swiatek double faults.
Raducanu 0-0 Swiatek*
A solid start from Emma Raducanu as she gets a decent return away on Iga Swiatek's second serve before the Pole pushes a forehand long.
She can't do much on the next serve, though, and plants into the net.
Swiatek yells 'come on' as she pinches the line with an inch-perfect winner onto the line, but Raducanu lets out a roar as she takes us to 30-30 with a booming cross-court winner across the court.
An intense start from these two.

Here we go then. Let's see what Emma Raducanu can do against the so-called Queen of Clay.
Iga Swiatek will serve first to get us under way.

Emma will be lucky to hold serve today sadly. Will have better chances on the grass.

Raducanu v Swiatek
Iga Swiatek has struggled for form of late.
She has not reached a final since her title triumph in Paris last year and had, by her high standards, a below-par clay-court swing.

Emma Raducanu talked on Monday about Iga Swiatek always being "fired up" when these two meet.
"I don’t know why that is, but she's always played really well," she told BBC Sport.
"I'm not sure if it is a me thing but every time we have played she has been high level."
Swiatek certainly looks fired up at the coin toss. She's jumping up and down like Nadal, shuffling her feet like Ali.
Intimidation tactics, I'd say.
