Here she comes. Emma Raducanu has got a huge smile on her face as she chats with the young mascot.

Iga Swiatek, meanwhile, looks locked in.

The three-time defending champion walks out with headphones on and she gives the briefest of waves to the crowd on Court Philippe Chatrier.

    The great outdoors!

With the rain clouds now long gone (probably somewhere over Strasbourg), the roof operator has been nudged into action and they've flicked the switch.

That means Emma Raducanu will take on Iga Swiatek in the conditions that French Open organisers intend their matches to be played - in fresh air.

The conditions are less heavy now and should be a bit quicker.

Who does that favour? Iga Swiatek, you would think.

  4. How can Raducanu stun the 'Queen of Clay'?published at 15:24 British Summer Time 28 May

Eyes were inevitably drawn to the possibility of Emma Raducanu facing four-time champion Iga Swiatek in the French Open second round when the draw was made last week.

Even Raducanu admitted she could not avoid the talk of what might lie ahead.

The 22-year-old showed physical and mental resilience to beat Wang Xinyu on Monday - but victory over Swiatek, nicknamed the 'Queen of Clay', in Paris is one of the toughest tasks in the women's game.

"It's a tall mountain to climb," said former British number one Annabel Croft.

"But it's not a foregone conclusion because Swiatek has suffered a lot of losses this year."

  6. Will Raducanu be healthy enough to push Swiatek?published at 15:20 British Summer Time 28 May

Eyes were inevitably drawn to the possibility of Emma Raducanu facing Iga Swiatek in the second round when the draw was made last week.

However, the unpredictability of sport has the potential to ruin the excitement generated by a draw.

Raducanu woke up before her opening match feeling "sick" but nature's attempts at derailing her progress were ended by a gritty deciding-set victory over China's Wang Xinyu.

If Raducanu stands any chance of beating Swiatek, she must be healthy. Any hint she is under the weather - and lacking energy - will be exposed.

After beating Wang on Monday, Raducanu offered a reassuring update: "After a good feed and some rest, I think I'll probably be OK."

    Marozsan 1-6 6-4 1-6 2-6 Alcaraz

World number two Carlos Alcaraz on playing on Court Philippe-Chatrier: "I love it. I have done really great things on this court. I have had really great moments and really bad moments as well, which I have learned from.

"I just love playing here. I think it fits pretty well with my tennis, every time I step on this court I show really good tennis. I love playing here at Roland Garros and I love playing on Philippe-Chatrier."

  8. 'It's difficult to have fun when you are suffering'published at 15:17 British Summer Time 28 May

    Marozsan 1-6 6-4 1-6 2-6 Alcaraz

Reigning French Open champion Carlos Alcaraz speaking on court about his second-round win: "It was a great match. I started playing well. In the first set, I had really high confidence. In the second set, he started to play much better and he was really aggressive. He didn't miss at all so it was a little difficult to deal with his game in the second set, but I'm really happy I stayed strong and refreshed myself. In the third set, I started to play better and better which helped me have a really good last two sets."

On whether he is having fun every time he steps out onto court: "Most of the time. Sometimes it is difficult to have fun on the court when you're suffering out there. It depends on the opponent as well.

"Most of the time I'm not trying to think about anything else but enjoying playing and enjoying being on this court. Philippe-Chatrier is a really beautiful court so I have to enjoy it, so once I step on court I'm not thinking about anything else.

"I just want to show good tennis. I want to make sure people are happy watching my match as well. That's the way I enjoy playing tennis."

That was Carlos Alcaraz's ninth win in a row at Roland Garros.

He will face either French favourite Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard or Bosnia-Herzegovina's Damir Dzumhur in the third round.

They're currently playing on Court Suzanne Lenglen and it's on serve midway through the first set.

  12. 'A pretty routine match for Alcaraz'published at 15:08 British Summer Time 28 May

Carlos Alcaraz only really had that blip at the start of the second set, otherwise it was a pretty routine match for him.

It was a fun match to watch because of the way that Fabian Marozsan plays, he definitely brought a lot to this. He is a very good player, who has had a few good weeks on clay, but Alcaraz just had too much for him.

    An enjoyable match to watch.

"Oooh," go the crowd. They weren't expecting that blistering return from Fabian Marozsan on Carlos Alcaraz's first serve.

Alcaraz keeps his cool to bring up two match points, but he gets it at the first time of asking as Marozsan mishits a return.

    The Spaniard's title defence continues.

    Carlos Alcaraz. Stop it!

What a way to bring up a break point. The defending champion glides across the court and flicks a forehand around the net post and back in.

Another classy winner and there's the break.

He's nearly there and he gives a quick fist pump towards his team.

Too easy. Carlos Alcaraz looks effortless as he slips and slides his way into each shot.

He's a bit too relaxed with that one, though, flinging it into the net.

Fabian Marozsan can't deal with a spectacular lob from the Spaniard, and he nets the next point as we go to deuce.

Carlos Alcaraz holds his hand out in apology as the ball clips off the net cord. I don't think it matters much, he had the whole court to aim for there.

A speedy service game from the world number two. He's getting closer and closer to a place in the third round.

I think we will see Alcaraz hold the next game now.

I don't think he is going to make the same mistakes twice, although he couldn't do much about the last break because Marozsan came out and swung at a few forehand returns.

I would imagine Alcaraz is thinking about the finish line being in sight and is wanting to knuckle down here.

Carlos Alcaraz is keen to restore his lead and he rattles his way to a 15-40 lead.

Fabian Marozsan can't keep up and he pushes the ball into the net, dropping serve for a seventh time today.

  20. 'We didn't see that one coming'published at 14:53 British Summer Time 28 May

    Leon Smith

Well, we didn't see that one coming! Fair play to Fabian Marozsan.

He caught a hold of a couple of returns that changed that game. He just let fly with it.

Carlos Alcaraz was too tempted. He saw the opportunity to go for a lob volley, when actually he could've just lifted the ball into the open space.
