    Boulter v Lamens

Katie Boulter and her Dutch opponent Suzan Lamens are out warming up.

It took Boulter a set to get going on the clay yesterday, can she hit the ground running today?

There are 30 places between these two in the rankings but they have never faced each other.

  3. 'Proud of how I came back' - Boulterpublished at 15:53 British Summer Time 12 April

Katie Boulter may not count clay as her favourite surface, with her big-hitting game better suited to hard courts and grass, but she showed real intelligence to work her way to victory over Tatjana Maria on Friday.

Two double faults in one game saw Boulter go a double break down and the experienced Maria capitalised, serving out the first set and going 30-0 up against serve in the opening game of the second.

However, Boulter clawed her way to a hold and began to look more settled. Her groundstrokes began to find the lines and, after the two exchanged breaks, back-to-back punishing returns of serve gave the Briton the crucial advantage.

Boulter forced a decider and barely looked back, reeling off 10 of the last 11 games and dictating the play with her impressive forehand.

"I just kept believing in myself," said the 28-year-old.

"It was hard to come out against someone who has played so well on clay and Tatjana made it difficult for me at the beginning.

"I am very proud of myself for how I came back."

Someone who is not present in the GB squad is Emma Raducanu, who withdrew to "look after her body".

The British number two is in discussions with Mark Petchey about appointing him as her new coach.

A final agreement has not yet been reached, but sources have told BBC Sport the Briton would like Andy Murray's former coach to head up her team.

Petchey, a former top-100 player, was in the coaching box alongside Jane O'Donoghue at March's Miami Open, where Raducanu reached the quarter-finals and produced her best tennis of the year.

Raducanu said at the time that she had some "really good people around me who I trust" during the week in Florida.

Advice is offered at change of ends by captain Anne Keothavong, who shares a bench with Sonay Kartal next to the umpire’s chair.

Who does Keothavong turn to for advice? She can often be seen talking to the LTA’s head of women’s tennis Iain Bates and coach Colin Beecher, who are filling the two prime positions on the team bench behind the advertising hoarding.
